"Severely Disappointed!"

Sail Date: May 01, 2009

Reviewed: 7 years ago

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Inside

The ship was severely deficient in providing quality customer service; food was poorly prepared and selections were limited; entertainment was limited; offshore excursions were limited and cannot depend on Carnival when incidentals are experienced.

Cons: The Overall Cruise Experience Was Aweful

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED)? No.

Food and Dining
The food in the buffet dinning (Lido Deck) was limited and tasteless. I have been on 8 previous Carnival Cruises and there was more variety and the food was prepared well.
Service and Staff
My friend fell on the Lido deck and Carnival's staff was less than helpful. Everything was a struggle and we had to request to fill out medical and security reports and requested copies of the reports; we met many challenges and it was very disapppointing.
The entertainment was less than desirable. It appeared that they just put anything on the itenarary without considering what would be enjoyable for the passengers. Past Carnival cruises had at least 3-4 clubs and the Destiny only had 1, which meant that all ages from teens to seniors. The music did not satisfy the variety of groups. Most of the time, the club was empty because most of the passengers were disapointed.
