The Housing Project of the Seas

Sail Date: September 01, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Balcony

We sailed on this "vessel" September 21st for a 6 day cruise - the ship was supposed to leave Miami at 4:00 and did not depart until well after 9:00. (No reason provided by ship personnel) - Our "upgraded" balcony stateroom was dirty & dated. There was dried mud on the couch the balcony was so filthy that we were afraid to go out there without our shoes- The elevators nearest to our cabin were out of order for the entire cruise - there was not water in the pool on the day we embarked we took pictures of the empty dry dirty pool. We were greeted by a member of the Fun Patrol upon entering the ship who looked just as tattered and dissheveled as the ship with his dirty wrinkled pants - We should have known then we were destined for the worst cruise ever. There was a large filthy tarp hanging on deck nine just feet from the "buffet" line - Clearly the Food & Beverage director should sail on Royal Carribean or Celebrity to see what an actual buffet should look like - When the buffet has 16 items listed and 9 of them are condiments.... NOT SO GOOD.... . The pursers desk was severly overstaffed and those people that did work there were as helpful as a match in a windstorm. The ship should have not been allowed to sail. This was my first Carnival experience and it will surely be my last - I would not send my worse enemy or in-law on this dump in the seas. There were leaks in the dining areas - we could only imagine where the water was coming from... probably the outdated staterooms. We looked for 30 minutes for the control for the air conditioning unit and found the antiquated dial in the ceiling of the stateroom and wben it turned on spiders came out. - STEER CLEAR OF THIS MESS THEY CALL A CRUISE - Carnival should be ashamed!

Pros: Departing the vessel

Cons: The filthy dated staterooms

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED)? No.

Cabin / Stateroom
Dated and dirty
Service and Staff
obvoiusly they just picked up people off the streets and slapped a uniform on them.
Ship Quality
If you have to do something with your money BURN it before spending it on this trip!
Food and Dining
If you have ever eaten in a school cafeteria - You have surpassed the dining events on this vessel
Entertainment
Thank God for Karoke Kay who was the host in the Karoke bar.... she was the highlight of the ship
