Review Summary

I believe we got a 3 star ship. We were 9 family members getting together for a Xmas cruise. We had 3 teenagers with us. The food was good, more so in the Universe Dining Room and NY Grill than at the buffets, but good over all. The rooms were spacious. This was a Spanish speaking cruise. Everything and then some catered to these people, even the latin club that must have had it's own schedule as we didn't see on our itinerary the band playing and the host only spoke Spanish during this performance. Wished there was more night life for dancing both on the deck and inside.

Ship Experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was better in the dining room or NY Grill on pool deck. The melting Chocolate Cake was excellent.

3 out of 5
I felt this was lacking. There were a lot of times when we had nothing to do. This is very much not the Carnival way. The shows were great! Definitley bring your own ping pong paddles and balls. they were only able to find 1 ball all week.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
Our children 14,15 & 16 (boy & 2 girls) did not enjoy the teen programs. Wi only had 1 controller and huge line to play and felt the programs were lame with no great dancing options as well. So many kids did not partake in this. Shame!

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Most people were very friendly, others seemed to be counting their days left on board.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
For the age, I think it was well maintained and very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Large and offered lots of storage, even had a large medicine cabinet.

Pros: Loved the Islands

Cons: No good dancing clubs for adults for teens

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED) 28? No.
