Review summary

when we board the carnival conquest ship we were given ID cards that showed this was our first cruise with carnival which wasn't true. They would not change it. When we arrived in our cabin 8307, the toilet would not flush and the room was hot. I discussed this with customer service for 4 days before the toilet would flush. The air conditioner was never fixed in our room and we were given a fan on the 6th day. On the seventh day when we went ashore and came back and could not go into room for 4 hours due to sewer gas. After the third day of toilet problems I asked to speak to the housing manager to get my room changed and was told it was impossible to see him. I asked to speak to the capitan and was told he didn't have time to talk to me about my problem. I was important enough to talk to him. The conquest is an old ship and when it rains water enters several floors. A sewage line from the ninth floor was draining into the hall of the 8th deck. When we were in port at st Thomas another carnival ship was in port with a engine room fire.

Ship tip

This is a very bad carnival cruise ship. Very old and needs repairs. Employees in customer service very rude except for one supervisor that finally got toilet to flush. Toilets were bad in several cabins on the eight floor. Could not talk to any of the responsible people on the daily bulletin

It's fantastic to see such a useful post. Thanks for the sharing, I also found a useful service for docs merging. BTW, there is an online service through which you can merge any PDF files, the link is here: http://www.AltoMerge.com.

We are going in Feb for our first cruise. looks to be a full one from the two large groups that are booked. but it should be fun! !

We had this happen to us.  Carnival did not have our several previous cruises listed.  We did eventually get them counted by faxing photos of us with the Ship Captains and the ship names printed in one corner by the ship photographers.  Luckily we had purchased the family photos on board and kept them over the years.  We reached Platinum Status quickly because of these earlier cruises.

We sailed Conquest in May. There is definitely something going on with the ship as we smelled sewer a couple of times. It was strongest on the first day - we smelled it during the welcome aboard show in the main theater. We had a nice vacation but won't sail on this ship again.

Since when did an open forum of a persons cruising experience become a playground for middle school name calling? I am also confused why Joe express cares what happens on a carnival cruise considering he deems anyone that cruises carnival a loser. are we that bored we need to slam other people to feel better about ourselves?

livewire03    9 years ago

joe express my comment was directed to douglasdraper77 the one that posted this not you but you seem to have so much cruise knowledge but show no cruises, makes we wonder if you ever cruised at all with all your immature comments.

Thanks for the entertainment!

I hardly believe for one minute that nobody wanted to address your issues I've cruised on carnival several times and if we had an issue with our stateroom someone would fix it and for your first cruise card are you referring to the blue card? after your 2nd you become red, so how many cruises have you been on with carnival?

Kowboyzd1    9 years ago

Were you just on the ship what was served in MDR what menu?

Kowboyzd1    9 years ago

Seems like the only thing out of whack was Someone's expectations. Horrible scenarios & circumstances are to be addressed as such . The quality of the cuisine & its culinary offerings are changing as quick as the cruisers themselves. Old ships ,newer staff. The introduction on a review & another ship. On the ships the sweeter you are the more you get. Intimidation, threats, anger get nowhere

I have been the Fascination, Liberty, and the Conquest. I will say that I will never sail on the Conquest again, we had a horrible time and decided to try norweigian. We got back from the getaway on 10/03/15. It was nice, a step or two above carnival in some ways. but we decided the next one would be on carnival Breeze. I liked my time on the Fascination and Liberty and am looking forward to the Breeze! They should do something with the Conquest though.

It is what it is & some will never be happy. There's always 1 miserable face in the crowd. Hoping for company.

Let's just break the argument....my very first cruise was with Carnival Destiny (retired) 15 years ago, My family had a fantastic time, tbh it's one of my happiest memorable first time cruose experience on a cruise ship.

mrsb3    9 years ago

Joeexpress..... how many cruises you were on? I see you make the same comment before.

rendezvoussam    9 years ago

Sorry to read your plight sounds like the ship despriately needed a refit or retirement.
