Review summary
We had a great cruise; good weather. We liked there were 2 days at sea right away. It really gave you a chance to unpack and fully relax before an island stop. St. Maarten:Mullet Beach was great. The shuttle van is just $2 per person; taxis were $9pp. Food/drinks at the local hut were reasonable as well ($5rum punch, $3 beers, $3 hotdog,$4 bergers). Antigua: Dickenson Beach ($3 taxi pp), 2chairs/umbrella $20; was nice. St. Thomas: Did a sail with Nightwind; only 15 people. Rick and Deb and the drinks/food were awesome! Nassau: Cabbage Beach ($4taxi pp) was crowded but if you walk way down to the right there was plenty of space. We like to use the casino on the ship as well. We noticed for the first time we actually acquired free drinks playing the table games! In the past, only the slots were able to acquire that benefit. Two things we didn't like that Carnival has changed: 1) They did away with their Past Passenger party in the show room with free drinks and snacks. They only gave us a coupon for a free drink after 5pm on the last night there. 2) We like to go to the trivia contests. Usually there's a winner after each one. This time, they collected points all week at all the trivia for a winner at the end. This wasn't fun because we might go to one while at sea, but I don't want to plan my days/vacation time around trivia! All-in-all a good trip! and the agents have been great to us!
