Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Inside

Ship was clean. We purchased FASTER TO THE FUN\, which turned out to be only good to get you on the ship the first time and that's all it does in reality. If you experience any problems\, do not expect staff to help you. You will need to go straight to guest services. We had lots of problems and they didn't get fixed - including being bitten by an insect/spider in our bed. The Medical staff refused to look at it unless we paid a fee. We found out later that if we had gone to guest services\, they might have waived the fee. Very unorganized crew. We felt like we were on a training ship.

Pros: The ports of call were interesting

Cons: The staff need training and lots of it

Recommends Carnival Conquest? No.

Ship Quality
There were areas of the ship that you had to go up or down 1 or sometimes 2 levels in order to get from Aft to Fwd without walking through a main dining room or bar area. Ship was clean\, decor was okay.
Food and Dining
The buffet is not worth your time. Stick to main dining. Guys Burger joint was excellent. Pizza was less than stellar and sometimes the only thing available. Main dining had good options and the food seemed better than the buffet.
Cabin / Stateroom
Very clean and comfortable. Some mechanical problems with sprinklers leaking and popping noises.
Service and Staff
The staff are pretty much all \"in the box\" trained and cannot help you with anything outside of their one or two duties. Many times they don't understand what you are needing or wanting. They are very polite\, however. Stewards and janitorial staff are excellent. Dining rooms are slightly above average service\, and all other staff were average.
Entertainment
Stage malfunctioned and cancelled show. Show times inconvenient. Movie was playing on DIVE IN THEATER and stopped about five minutes before end of movie\, staff refused to resume. Popcorn at movies\, guy would wait until the popcorn went completely empty before beginning the next batch that takes 6 minutes to cook. Comedians were the only thing worth going to. Even the shopping and art seminars with \"free things\" was a joke because the staff was too lazy to do anything except throw stuff to people in the front row.
Children's Programs
Circle C was very enjoyable for the kiddos. Kuddos to the staff here\, and the program officials. This was nicely done.
