Room Type: Balcony

We had never been on a cruise and thought we'd give it a try, so take this review with a grain of salt.

The staff was excellent!

The food was very disappointing, barely a step above going to a cafeteria. There were WAY too many people on the ship vs what it was capable of handling without feeling crowded.

They charge for everything, expect you to tip extra, and while the staff was great, Carnival really cheaped out on the food that made it difficult to want to go any extra on the tips. Internet - extra. Soft drinks- extra, Popcorn for the movies - extra, alcohol - extra, pictures - extra. Then they try to sell you every chance they get, and have a tie in with Diamonds International which came across as VERY tacky.

Pros: Staff, room with balcony, variety of activities (when available due to crowds)

Cons: Food, crowds (especially at ports of call), always someone asking for $$$

Recommends Carnival Conquest? Yes!

Ship Quality
Decorations were on the tacky side, but it was clean, and the staff was on top a keeping it that way. Waiting to get off and back on while visiting ports of call used up a LOT of available time. We waited for almost an hour to catch the tender back to the ship at Grand Caymans.
Food and Dining
Most disappointing part of the trip. Lots of volume, but short on quality, especially disappointing were the desserts.
Entertainment
Definitely the part that is most challenging for passengers from babies to seniors. There were a lot of options, but not a lot we had an interest in.
Cabin / Stateroom
One of the best parts of the trip. We had adjoining balcony rooms so it was very nice to open them up and watch the sights.
Service and Staff
Top notch staff, very friendly, making the most out of what they had.
