Very Average Cruise

Sail Date: February 01, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Inside

The ship was larger than others we had sailed on but the common areas seemed to be about the same size which seemed to cause congestion. Staff did not seem as friendly and helpful as on other cruises

Pros: Our Cabin Steward

Cons: Dining Room Service, Food Quality & Staff

Recommends Carnival Conquest? No.

Food and Dining
This is our 3rd cruise and the worst food so far. The buffet seemed to have fewer choices and the food was so-so. The formal dining was better food but the service was terrible.
Service and Staff
Other than out cabin steward "Mario" we were not impressed with the ship's staff. There were a couple of times people were rude.
Children's Programs
We had a very bad experience with the youth programs on the ship. Our son is a very mature 13 (almost 14) and the other boys we were traveling with are 15. We requested our son be allowed to attend the Club O2 with the other boys in our group and were refused. We appealed this decision to the youth director and again were told "no". No one would even meet with us to discuss the matter and our feeling is that we as parents should be able to make this decision as we are paying his fare. Therefore, our son did not have as good as experience as he has had on other cruises.
Ship Quality
Again the ship was large but confusing to navigate. We have been on other cruise lines which were much easier to get around. Many corridors don't go through so you would find yourself having to go up or downstairs to reach another area of the ship to get where you were going.
Entertainment
The shows were pretty good. We had seen the comedian on a previous cruise.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our stateroom was about the same as other cruises the bathroom seemed larger. It was clean and met our needs.
