The time of our Lives!!!

Sail Date: April 01, 2007

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Balcony

The ship was very clean. The staff was working around the clock to make sure of it.

Pros: The weight staff in the dining room was fabulous!!! By the 2nd night they knew exactly what we needed. The entire staff was also very wonderful to our 2 1/2 year old daughter. They did everything to make her feel like a princess!!

Cons: I wish they would change the Montego Bay, Jamaica port of call. It was really a disappointment and the other two ports of call made it look even worse.

Recommends Carnival Conquest? Yes!

Ship Quality
The ship is very large and took a little time to get around. There were maps at every elevator and stair location. The hardest thing to get to was the Monet dining room. It was best to go to the aft on the 5th deck and then go down.
Food and Dining
The food was excellant. There was always something new and exciting every night and they still had our favorite dessert available every night if we wanted. The pizza was amazing. The grill was very good. Praveen and his Naughty Naught Cheeseburgers and Hot Dogs was a fun place to hang out. The deli was great and a wonderful option when you wanted something light. The buffet had wonderful selections if you wanted a variety at any meal time. If you are watching your weight, they even provide "spa selections" that were very tasty.
Cabin / Stateroom
The cabin was a good size for us (2 adults 1 toddler) There was ample storage space for our clothes and the suitcases tucked neatly under the bed. The bathrooms were fair in size and had ammenities in the shower (shampoo and body wash). The only downfall was there was only one outlet and you had to unplug the TV to use it.
The lounge shows were exciting and entertaining. There was always something to do for everyone. Bingo, trivia games, water slide and music were always going on. The commercial is right, at any given moment there is a million ways to have fun. If you don't have fun on this trip, it is noone's fault but your own.
Service and Staff
This was the friendliest staff. They all acted like they really wanted to be there to help us. They all went out of their way to treat our daughter like a princess and make sure she was happy. Mark Price, the cruise director, was entertaining as well as informitive. The weight staff and cabin stuards were very friendly and efficient. Sherwin and Danillo worked as our weight staff team and we could not have asked for anyone better. We truly had the best. They knew our every want before we asked and were always ready to do a magic trick or dance to entertain us.
Children's Programs
We had three children from 2-13 with us. My 10 year old niece had the most fun. There was a ton of activities for all age groups. The staff was nice and consoled my 2 year old when we left her. We were given a pager at the beginnig of the cruise just in case she got sick or too scared. She came back to us with face painting and stickers and she was soo excited. They even have a make a bear program for her age group, games and scavenger hunts for the older kids as well as a arcade and disco. They had the best time.
