Sail Date: March 01, 2007 Ship: Carnival Conquest Cabin Type: Balcony Traveled As: Couple Reviewed: 11 years ago
Dirty - buffet closed often leaving long lines for pizza and sandwiches. Cold coffee in dining room several times. Food ok, nothing great. Ice cream bar usually a big mess . Cruise director not seen unless on stage. Children in the adult only pools and playing on the dance floor with little or no supervision. Few activities. Cruise director requested and accepted only outstanding reviews. Using other cruises as a standard this cruise was terrible.
Food and Dining

Below average. Poor selection. Closed in the afternoon after shore excursions - needed to stand in long deli lines or pizza lines. No food available in the evening. Never a problem on other cruises. Couldn't even find a piece of fruit.

what entertainment? No games - keroke was during the dining hour.
There was a dance lesson - that was fun and well done. Basically hours at sea were spent wandering around - wishing for some activities. Basically everyone was gathered on the deck or by the pool. No newly wed game, no scavenger hunt, only one short swing dance lesson and one short line dance lesson and these were both well attended. Also there was 'shopping' info and art sales. The few casino lessons given were good. Also, the towel folding was fun.
Service and Staff

The dining room waiter was excellent - entertaining and good. The only thing I didn't appreciate was his telling us to leave him extra tip. The second waiter was really nice - and VERY good.

cleanliness was poor - especially in the food area. Uncleared tables, dirty window sills, messy and dirty ice cream bar. Dirty towels from floor were put back on the towel bars - I recognized a stain. When I questioned them - the replaced it didn't happen again - but still - used a dirty towel that had been used to wipe the floor - to dry and felt unclean.
Cabin / Stateroom

Stateroom very cold - and we were told that they didn't have any heat. Many people were complaining about being too cold in their room.
Pros: balcony is always nice - this balcony was small and poorly furnished
Cons: dirty window sills and food areas and very few activities
