Review summary

This was our 1st cruise on Carnival. Our last cruise was with Viking 15 days. I do have to say that even with the Casino Staff using our room key to access our room and rob us of all cash in our safe.. we did have a good time. We did the Chefs Dinner which was outstanding, we ate in the Steakhouse 2 nights, the Italian restaurant 3 times... everyone went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable time.

(***SECURITY Staff was a joke... while filing a report about having our room safe robbed, we where made to feel  like we were the criminal..... because of this we can't say we will ever cruise with Carnival again)

I have Cruised with Celebrity 17 days and 12 days, Princess 14 days and 12 days. All international never been robbed.  This was a 7 day and before first port which was on the 3rd day we had no cash.

My husband and I have cruised with Carnival more times than I can remember without looking it up. We have accidentally left our safe open more than once with cash, credit cards, passports, and jewelry in it. Nothing has ever been stolen. The stewards won't even take cash laying around the room, unless you put it in an envelope with his or her name on it. The hard-working people that can access your room would never put their jobs in jeopardy like that. Their families in third world countries depend on that income for support. I have cruised only with Carnival for many years and never had an issue with anything, other than the weather. I have heard of people complaining to guest services about that, expecting to be reimbursed. I tell them, "Go cruise with RCL, pay triple the price of Carnival. Then, you can complain." I do not believe your story, Lollipops. You can't even spell your name correctly.

I think lollypops is full of crap!

I thought any gifts sent to your stateroom was delivered by your room steward when they serviced your room. We have sailed 24 times so far and never had anything stolen. If this occurred it would be a theft, not a robbery.

Never been robbed.

It is true that someone has to be able to open safes left locked but that privilege isn't given to Casino staff! And as previously stated, cabin numbers are not on key cards and what ever code or card you use for the safe would also have to be in a room if accessed by a thief. The whole idea of a SAFE in a room be it a hotel or cruise ship cabin is to prevent thievery if somehow someone does get in. Theft from hotel in-room safes is not an everyday occurrence, but it does happen. Hotel guests do forget their safe codes, or safe electronics may malfunction. Therefore, the hotel staff has to have some way to unlock the hotel room safe. Hotels all have a special “electronic backdoor” that allows them to use a special digital code, key or electronic device to open the safe if needed. So you are truly not the only one with access to your safe.

Yes we have had gifts left in our room but I would never worry about anything being stolen.

lizzyb    7 years ago

Dont see why they would get in safe but do know casino host can go to your room they have left us gifts in the past.

Your cabin # is not on your Sign and Sail card and how did they know your password to your safe you make one when you got on the ship unless you advertised it.

alleycat51699    7 years ago

Unless somebody knew your cabin and knew which card you used for your safe (you can use any magnetized card for the safe, not just your Sign and Sail), then nobody stole anything from your safe. You either misplaced your cash or spent it on gambling and liquor.

CamiJo    7 years ago

How do you know who did it?

tpost55    7 years ago

You will need to elaborate on how a casino staff got your cabin number off your sign and sail account and how they knew the code to your safe or had your the card you used to lock your safe. That just doesn't make any sense
