Princess Cruises has always been synonymous with providing a premier experience with excellent service. It turns out this is just a farce. My husband and I were extremely disappointed by our recent experience aboard the Caribbean Princess. From the very moment we boarded the ship until the time we got off, we had perfunctory service at best by staff who barely acknowledged our existence and were not equipped to answer basic questions, such as where to make dinner reservations and how to check-in for a bungalow we rented on Princess Cays. While doing the muster drill, staff were extremely rude – not even a smile or eye contact. At Princess Cays, we wasted well over a half-hour and were extremely frustrated by the time we got to our bungalow because our tickets said to check-in at the watersports area, which like all lines during the duration of our trip was long. When we asked several staff members where to go, none were able to guide us in the right direction. In fact, as we approached one female employee in particular, we were made to feel as if we were an extreme inconvenience. Not to mention, an employee, who appeared to be a manager, walked into our bungalow without saying a word to my husband and I as we sat directly in front of the cabana. My husband asked the manager if he could help him and in response the manager said he was checking to see what needed to be cleaned (at 1:30 p.m.) and even got defensive. Food also was a big disappointment, although we did have much better service in the specialty restaurants. Suffice to say, we will never book a Princess Cruise again and caution anyone else who has a similar perception about the cruise company’s service. 

First I want to say was wonderful!! I would 100% use them again for any of my cruising need. As far as the cruise on Caribbean Princess NEVER AGAIN!!!! I traveled with my family, we had 3 cabins all next to each other. When we checked in they moved all our rooms. HOW DO YOU SEPERATE A FAMILY???? We were not the only family this happened to. Many family were at the desk with us very upset.

Also the dinning room staff was very rude. 2 night of our trip were " Formal nights" and unless you and your children had long pants on you were not allowed in dinning area. They were very rude about this. I could go on and on with the problems, its just easier to say DO NOT TAKE THIS CRUISE!!!! 

It started with the first afternoon when we arrived on the boat.   The lunch buffet was a very small area with long lines.  The food was the worse food we ever had on a cruise ship.  The dinners in the dining room were not good either.  For a Princess line ship, we would have expected much better food.    Even when we watched a movie under the Stars, NOBODY came around passing out towels and popcorn...we had to hunt it down for quite some time to find towels and popcorn.  For paying extra money for a Christmas cruise, I would have expected to at least have good service.

The captain of the ship ONLY spoke on the loud speaker the first day during the life boat drill.  You would think that for a Christmas cruise, he would have come on the speaker and wish everyone a nice Holiday....very sad.  That would have added the extra touch and gone a long way.  Disembarking was the worse experience we ever had...When everyone left the ship, we were not told where to go...we were basically pushed out like cattle.  We then found out we were at pier 21, but when the cruise originally left we were at pier 2...we were 3 miles away from pier 2 where our car was parked in the parking garage.  It was a very disorganized disembarkation, and we waited for 2 hours just to get the shuttle bus from pier 21 to bring us to pier 2.  EVERY passenger that got off the ship was VERY disappointed in the overall cruise experience and the disembarkation.    The comments we heard from everyone was that they would not cruise on Princess again.  I can't stress enough all of my comments, and I truly hop that Princess takes these comments seriously.  I had not heard one positive comment from any passengers on this particular cruise.  

    Nice relaxing atmosphere ,great food. Ship has everything for 5 nights trip: gym,sauna,computer room, library. Stuff very helpful. We had a great time.

Even though it's an older ship, it was kept up and clean. Food was excellent. Staff was always courteous and kind and always helpful.

What a great cruise. We booked this last minute. The staff was amazing and very attentive. Everyone had a smile on their face and asked if we needed anything. There was always something to do. We hung by the pool during the afternoon, drank and the bars, relaxed in our room, then went to dinner and maybe hit up the casino at night.

The Caribbean Princess is a beautiful ship. It is a little older but I think the ship has been well kept and is tastefully decorated. The layout of the ship makes it never feel too crowded. There are four different pools!

Holiday cruise that didn't disappoint. Outstanding meals in the main dining room coupled with a very friendly staff helped to make this beautifully decorated ship bring joy and happiness to this holiday cruise.

If you like Service than Princess is the Cruise for you.My 2nd time on Princess and this ship was huge,Great service all over.Even in the buffett areas,they will come around right when you sit down and get you a drink during anytime of the day which was very easy  to get used too.Asked if everything was ok and was great.Only complaint i have for Princess is salad dressings as they have a European taste to Ranch and Ceasar almost a sour taste .The Pools werent filled with kids as Princess attracts a quiet older crowd which i love.Had some of the best service in the Crown Grill steak house.Told me that if i didnt see it on the menu to ask and they will make any combination for me.Had Lobster and steak and a table full of sides.Went out of my way to shake the main waiter hand as service was best in 10 years plus!

I learned from long time Princess customers that since being purchased by Carnival that the service and quality has been deteriorating. Apparently they are suffering from the Carnivalization of a once elegant cruise line. The buffets are mediocre at best. I do not believe their claim that everything is prepared fresh from scratch daily. The traditional dinning service is hit and miss. Some items were very good, others not so much. The black forest cake was still frozen in the middle. Frozen cakes generally come from a box not an on board bakery. The biggest disappointment was that you had to spend an extra twenty five to thirty dollars to eat in their "specialty restaurants". They could at least offer lobster or crab legs for a reasonable surcharge in the dining rooms. The staff was a hit or miss situation. None of them seemed to be enjoying their jobs. I know they are away from home for months at a time but that was their choice. The final straw came when after paying $250.00 for group photos to remember her 90th birthday the charge to get a copy on a memory stick, which was advertised for a $10.00 fee turned out to be a $100.00 fee because it was a group photo. I was then told by the head photographer that I should take it up with Princess because that's the policy. I call B.S. After a 90 year old woman pays the cruise bill for thirty of her family members to celebrate her birthday the fact that Princess felt the need to squeeze another $100.00 dollars out of her is appalling. Next time we will fly to our destination of choice and go the all included route. I will never set foot on a Carnival owned ship again.

The cruise was wonderful. We had many choices of places to eat and food from which to choose. The activities were well planned and the shopping was good but not excellent.

i had a great time. the food and service was wonderful. the only negative part of the cruise was the entertainment. the show that was held nightly lasted only approx 1/2 hour. i thought the shows should have been at least 1 hour. otherwise, great cruise.

Poor entertainment. Fewer fun activities. Excellent food.

This is the fourth time I was on the Caribbean Princess. Twice with my family and twice just the two of us. This time our room was out of the way and no noise which I like. I like to go to the specialty restaurants. I found the Crown Grill was much better this time. I think the Italian restaurant is overrated but we come from New York and their is an Italian restaurant every 20 feet. Staff was very nice.
