Review summary

Just returned from 12 night British Isles cruise on the Caribbean Princess. Embarkation was brilliant, probably the best of any cruise I have done so far. We paid for an upgrade to a mini suite for our anniversary. However, we didn't much appreciate the huge dirty toe nail clippings we found on the bathroom floor ( which I stood on and had embedded in my foot..ewwww). Didn't appreciate the rubbish left in the bedside tables....chocolates, papers and Princess Patter from previous cruise. Door to the balcony didn't lock. There were 2 blue shopping bags under our bed, that's right, under the bed ! One holding cans of coke and the second bottles of sparkling water and alcoholic beverages. Why, I don't know. Toilet was blocked ( but hey, it happens on cruise ships sometimes). The food in the Fresh Market was lacking in choice, especially at breakfast. The main dining room food was pretty good. Some of the staffdid not seem too happy...but...I guess it would be a hard job to do after a while. The 3 hour wait for tender boats at St Peter Port was unbelieveable. It was quite warm, and quite a few elderly people found it hard going. Water wasn't distributed until at least 2 hrs into waiting. The shore tours were good, however, we all felt rather rushed at times. Couldn't comment on the shows in the Theatre, as every time we turned up for the show, there were no seats. I really did not want to be sitting down 1.5hours before the show, but it seemed you needed to be there that early to get a seat. Debarkation was again quick and efficient. We won't be cruising with Princess again, we will stay with Celebrity....

the stuff under the bed is usually for thw porter to restock...we found same thung one time when luggage wouldn't slide under bed and asked about it thinking it was left behind and that's what we were told...out of curiosity we now check and yup usually stufd under the bed

princess theater on all ships is notorious for being full to capacity at least 45 minutes prior to show time, you think they'd learn by this and build the newer ships with bigger theatres. all you missed was singers and dancers. and dancers and singers, then maybe a magician followed by more singers and dancers. Their lounges often have better entertainment

Nothing wrong with staying with a cruise line you like. I am amazed, no matter what ship, how quick the room porters turn/clean cabins in a 4-hour period. Obviously your cabin was NOT properly cleaned. Sorry.

That's horrible! It sounds like the cabin Steward didn't clean the suite before you checked in! We did have to go early for the shows to get a seat also when we were on the CP. One night we got there 30 minutes in advance & there were no seats so we improvised & sat in the isle on steps just to see it. Lol. Our meals were good & the Balcony doors didn't close tight or lock either but again, we made the best of it & slept with the slider 1/4 open & let the sounds of the ocean lull us to sleep.
