Review summary

We were on the June 6 sailing of British Isles. The cruise started off a bit rough with 1st port being cancelled due to weather and not able to leave Southampton until 2:45 am. It was weird not seeing a sail away. No fault of Princess just horrible weather that we would follow for next 10 days. We had a window stateroom and fortunately we had partially obstructed view. The room was a good layout and very clean. Only complaint was not many choices on TV which normally I wouldn't complain about but because of bad weather we were in room more than usual. The food options were pretty good and the pizza and burgers on Lido deck were always good after a day at port. We ended up dining at buffet majority of trip due to not liking menu selections in dining room, but that is all preference. When we did eat in dining room the food and service were good. The buffet was on the small side compared to Royal Princess and many times they would only have one side open which would make finding a table challenging. The food was good quality, but could have been a little warmer. I loved the pb&j bar at dinner. Very fun. Service at buffet was excellent!! The bars were well staffed and service was great. We didn't attend any of the shows due to how crowded they were and we didn't want to have to line up before hand to get seats. Shows really aren't our thing anyways. Weather was pretty bad, but people still bundled up for movies and popcorn on deck. The ports were all great. We only took one Princess excursion in France to beaches of Normandy. We found local excursions better and cheaper. Highly recommend Invergordon Tours with Gavin for Dunrobin Castle Tour and Irish Tours Tickets Limited for the Giant Causeway tour. Way cheaper than princess and everyone on tour bus was from our ship. For the other ports we took trains in and did cities on our own. Very easy to navigate trains and figure out way around cities. Feel like we got a true feeling for the culture and cities. Overall, a good cruise but by far the tiredest I've ever been on a cruise. The port intensive cruising is great, but can be a bit much. I recommend packing layers of clothing because the weather is absolutely crazy and unpredictable.

Thanks for your review.  Very informative.  We are looking forward to our BI cruise on 9/10/17 and found this to be quite helpful.

We did this cruise mid jun 2 years ago and found the weather chilly. But oh my the beauty. We rented a cab right outside the port to go to blarney castle. Cost us 90 dollars for 6 hours. Tge gentleman took us all over. Gave us a great history tour.
