Review summary

Princess does many things well, excellent food, superb cabin service, great dining experience. It's the little things that are annoying. TV remotes that don't work, sliding doors in balcony rooms that don't lock, no seating in buffet areas during peak times, too many "saved" chairs in pool area, small pours in the bars, the "can't get there from here" feeling on decks 5 and 6, poor timing of entertainment and dining times and limited seating in main auditorium (unless you want to be seated 40 minutes prior) AND the best bar on the ship, Sky Walkers on deck 18, panoramic view of ocean, exquisite environment, DOESN’T OPEN TILL 10pm! No happy hour here. Go figure.

I have not sailed on this ship - in fact I have only been on one Princess cruise - the Royal Princess & I enjoyed the cruise.

We sailed on CARIBBEAN PRINCESS in May 2015, a fantastic cruise, our steward was Sebian, he kept us entertained every day, he would say see you at Sky walkers tonight as that was his second job, but as we are early birds we never got there. We've sailed on 3 Princess ships and never had any complaints, I do agree that you have to get to the theatre early but if you plan your evening meal to get a seat like my wife and I, she likes to read and I would go to the casino, which more often than not would be very lucrative for me.as for saving chairs around the pool they had a 20 minute rule if no one used them I would take off the towels and make them available, we've learned to get pool side early weather permitting and take it in terns to mind the sun beds. I did have a run in with one couple who complained the we had taken their sun beds, but they soon backed down when I pointed out that they had not been near the beds for over an hour, but later in the cruise we got talking at lunch and they agreed they were wrong. As for tv remotes speak to the customer service and get maintenance to sort it, had the same problem. When we go to the buffet we get our table first and take it in turns to get our meal if it is busy.

We took the Caribbean Princess a few years back - same area but really different ports of call - and loved it. I've read that a lot of ships are closing their "Sky Walkers" lounges. Sorry to learn she is showing her age - it happens - but certainly effects passenger satisfaction. It is not as though they offer discounts when the carpet starts to fray, the varnish peels, or the doors start to jam. Although they probably should.
