Worst cruise we ever went on.

Sail Date: December 22, 2014

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

Cabin: 10633

It started with the first afternoon when we arrived on the boat.   The lunch buffet was a very small area with long lines.  The food was the worse food we ever had on a cruise ship.  The dinners in the dining room were not good either.  For a Princess line ship, we would have expected much better food.    Even when we watched a movie under the Stars, NOBODY came around passing out towels and popcorn...we had to hunt it down for quite some time to find towels and popcorn.  For paying extra money for a Christmas cruise, I would have expected to at least have good service.

The captain of the ship ONLY spoke on the loud speaker the first day during the life boat drill.  You would think that for a Christmas cruise, he would have come on the speaker and wish everyone a nice Holiday....very sad.  That would have added the extra touch and gone a long way.  Disembarking was the worse experience we ever had...When everyone left the ship, we were not told where to go...we were basically pushed out like cattle.  We then found out we were at pier 21, but when the cruise originally left we were at pier 2...we were 3 miles away from pier 2 where our car was parked in the parking garage.  It was a very disorganized disembarkation, and we waited for 2 hours just to get the shuttle bus from pier 21 to bring us to pier 2.  EVERY passenger that got off the ship was VERY disappointed in the overall cruise experience and the disembarkation.    The comments we heard from everyone was that they would not cruise on Princess again.  I can't stress enough all of my comments, and I truly hop that Princess takes these comments seriously.  I had not heard one positive comment from any passengers on this particular cruise.

Ship Quality
The ship could have been more updated.
Food and Dining
The only good food was at the Crown Restaurant ($25 per person restaurant)
Cabin / Stateroom
Could have been more updated.
Service and Staff
Our room steward John (room 10633) was VERY good.
Entertainment
Onboard Activities
They should have had more activities. Especially when Christmas day was rainy and we were at sea, they should have planned extra activities.
Destinations and Excursions
Food at Princess Cay was very bad and cold. We were first in line, and food was cold.
Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida
The disembarkation was terrible and unorganized. We left out of port 2, and came back to port 21....they never told us that when getting off of ship, and took 2 hours to get to our car at pier 2....very poor communication.
Cozumel, Mexico
We enjoyed going to a private beach resort and shopping in town.
Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)
We opted to stay on boat by the pool as we've been to this island before.

Tip

Lunch buffets in cafeteria were very bad. Carving station meats were bad (they were carved with the grain, when in fact, they should always be carved against the grain of the meat). We couldn't eat the meat....very tough and not able to cut with a knife.
