Review SummaryThis was our 3rd Princess Cruise and overall we had a great time with few issues. The tours and entertainment were fantastic. We had our family of 8 (from 75 to 16) traveling which is always a challenge to navigate with a group that size.
When we got on the ship in Puerto Rico, the baggage handlers were horrible. They prey on the elderly for tips. After we dropped our bags they stopped my parents (75 yo) and said they needed a tip for the bags or they would not move them. By the time I got back it was too late and they were already paid. They did not do this with anyone younger. As we stood in line to get in the Embarkation area, I noticed the baggage handlers doing the same thing with older travelers. And again, they told this older couple that they could not move their bags unless they were tipped. This was horrible and Princess should fix this issue.
We have traveled on the Coral Princess and Sapphire Princess. Both had great ship stabilization systems that gave just a gentle role motion. I think the Caribbean Princess has something wrong. The back of the ship shook like the props were out of balance and from the front there were jolts (minor) that felt like we kept hitting something. One night it felt like the ship was being hit from the side. Obviously the stabilization equipment is less superior to the Sapphire and Coral Princess in the same type seas.
Disembarkation was probably the worst I have seen. We docked at 0530 and did not get off the ship till approximately 0820 even though our group was suppose to disembark at 0745. Very poorly done. There were also no accommodations made for those of us who had early flights
