First time on Britannia, very impressed, for such a big ship, she has been designed very well. A lot of small intimate spaces. Staff always smiling and helpful.

Really impressed with Britannia, its... by katy012

Ship: Britannia

Really impressed with Britannia, its is a very large ship so don’t go on if you like the smaller more intimate experience. But there was lots to do aimed at all age groups, lots of bars, eating options etc. Good always top notch and the ship is very clean and well maintained. Only small downsides are cost of wifi is extortionate, decks become like an ice rink at the hint of moisture we saw many people fall over, so be careful! Fab holiday and would love to go on her again!

Britannia is a beautiful ship,... by TemplarKH

Sail date: /
Ship: Britannia

Britannia is a beautiful ship, but be prepared to do a lot of walking, without a doubt it’s very clean ship and I can’t fault them on that one, all the food served is excellent and very tasty, even the self service restaurant, sadly on a recent cruise to the Caribbean their was some bad customer service problems in two sections of the ship, one being in the photograph section and also the java section which sells Costa coffee, but must say I did enjoy the cruise and of course the weather was outstanding all the time.

Fabulous Caribbean Cruisewas slightly by keeshond

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Caribbean

This is my first cruise with P and O and I would not hesitate to do another. So much to do on board and the ports of call were wonderful. It took a while for me to find my way around Britannia but it is a lovely ship and there was always somewhere to go if the hustle and bustle of a busy ship became too much. There were so many excursions to choose from that you could do the same cruise again and find lots of other places to visit.

1st Transatlantic Cruise by Tartanal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Caribbean

We were very lucky with the smoothest of Atlantic crossings and lovely weather. The ship is lovely although can be quite a challenge to navigate around. Although we had a lovely time I must say I am not too keen on the formal nights. I know a lot of people love these nights but one would have been enough for me ( or none) and although the wife loved getting dressed up she agreed that it was all a bit too much. Nothing special seemed to happen on the formal nights so we were going to the bother of getting all dolled up to go to the same restaurant, eat the same meal, go to the same bar or entertainment venue. I know a lot of people won’t agree but I just feel it is a lot of bother so that we can have our photos taken and the ship can make a fortune from selling them to us. I.ll have to watch, I’m beginning to sound like a grumpy old man!!!!!! Don’t know if I should say this but we have cruised 5 times in the last 2 years and all the others were with NCL. I love NCL. I love the informality and their all inclusive policy. Having said that we had a lovely time on Britannia. If all things were equal I would pick NCL for my next cruise although if the price was right I would not hesitate to go again on Britannia or another P&O.

This was my second time... by dcuk9

Sail date: /
Ship: Britannia

This was my second time on Britannia and I throughly enjoying my two weeks onboard. The staff were top notch, the service was excellent, considering how many passengers she carries. There was a good mix of entertainment and we really enjoyed some of the shows and performances by visiting artistes. We dined in the Epicurean restaurant for dinner twice and for afternoon tea, and it was outstanding. The food was of the very best quality, the service second to none and the way food is presented and prepared at your table makes for a very enjoyable evening. She's a big ship, but do your homework and get to know the layout in advance so you're less likely to get lost. I know some people complain that there is too many people onboard, but there was always places to sit, even in the buffet at peak times. Only occasional queues to embark and disembark in ports, to be expected.

Fantastic Atlantic Islands by davidmr007

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Europe

The Britannia has had some negative reviews but I could not find anything that I did not like. The weather at sea was very rough at times and I was glad I was on such a big ship. It was my first Cruise and even though I cannot compare with any other ship I would go on the Britannia again without any hesitation.

First cruise and I before... by Polstead

Sail date: /
Ship: Britannia

First cruise and I before I start let me say nothing in life is perfect but this was pretty good. 4.5 stars out of 5 The good points. The food was very good indeed. We ate in the Oriental restaurant and I can honestly say we had a wonderful meal every night. Breakfast too was taken there and the service was excellent. For lunch, when taken, we used the Peninsular and once the Meridian. Again absolutely first class. I never understand the attraction of the buffet restaurant, the Horizon, when you can be waited on in style, but I suppose everyone is different but unfortunately as a result I cannot help with reviewing that place other than to say it always appeared popular. We also had a meal in the Sindhu restaurant which was amazing. Entertainment was better than I had expected, certainly a step up from resort hotels that I have been to. There was a variety to suit most tastes but the highlight for me was the evening spent in the limelight lounge. Dean Andrews was the perfect fit for that type of dining. He is not just a very good singer but also quite amusing. Our cabin on G deck( G714) was a concern before I got on board as I had read reviews about noise from the Live Lounge below. I didn't hear a thing from there and I guess they must have sorted the problem as I am a light sleeper. The room was clean and serviced twice a day to a very good standard. Thank you Mathew. I also thought the time in Ports was about right and as always everyone has a view about each place. For me I enjoyed our days in La Coruna and in Madeira, you must do the toboggan. Did not think so much about the Canary Islands and loved Seville ( from Cadiz ) The staff were excellent and look after you well. We also met some wonderful people on our maiden cruise and that certainly made our holiday The Bad points The lifts, they are a total pain. Not enough and in the midship section worse due to there not being any stairs. P&O need to also have one lift dedicated in that section for wheelchair users. The fit amongst us can walk forward or aft and use stairs, but often don't. It is a serious problem and was the talk of the ship. Personal point and I may be accused of being a party pooper but I just do not get the sail away party thing. But you can always avoid them as it is such a big ship and have a nice beer somewhere or read a book as there are lots of place to escape to All in all I think I will like cruising and we have booked another to the fjords Hope this helps and enjoy the ship

First cruise as passengers not crew.... by DaveG1266

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Scandinavia

This was our first cruise as passengers. We both worked on cruise ships years ago. We are now hooked as passengers and our son loved it too. Although he now wants to be a Captain and not a Chief Engineer.... We'll work on that though.
