Great way to see the Med! by sidezy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The best way to see the world (without your own super yacht!) If I could afford it, I’d retire to a cruise ship. I’m missing it like crazy!

Fabulous med cruise by weasie74

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week honeymoon to the med. we had pure luxury from start to finish. If you are celebrating and can afford it, I highly recommend buying the ultimate celebration package before you go. It is well with the money. I had a huge bouquet of flowers waiting for us in the room, dressing gown and slippers for each of us. We had a couples massage, a huge breakfast in bed with champagne, a photo and frame, 2 meals in additional Michelin starred restaurants, Belgian chocolates, dessert treats served twice in our room. Well worth the money! The staff are all very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. There is a grab section on the lidobdecls sonofbyou are sunbathing and don’t want to move for lunch you can get salads, sandwiches and wraps, fruit pots and desserts to eat on deck as well as burgers and fries being served constantly. P@O are feeders!! The food everywhere is AMAZING! all the restaurants are fabulous, choose your formal wear carefully as you might not get in it the second week! We were fortunate enough to have 2 meals in the restaurants as part of our celebration package, we chose Sindhu and Epicurean. Sindhu was like nothing I’ve ever experienced. In fact it was an experience from start to finish and the staff are wonderful. The Epicurean was equally as fab, completely different food but an experience all the same! Where else would I try frogs legs and love them! Entertainment was good, if theatrevis your thing then you will love it, state of the art theatre and some good acts, our favourite was the charismatic Jimmy James who we saw twice. The only thing that I would grumble about is the up selling! It just felt like we were constantly being asked to spend more money. We did feel a little obliged to buy products after our massage which annoyed me. If you hit a costa coffee or coke they will try and sell you a drinks card, these do save money but sometimes trying to get a Costa coffee can be a little slow! Be prepared to say no! You can no longer check your bill on your tv so we went to reception a couple of times to get a print out of the bill to keep tabs on spending, let’s face it, cruises aren’t cheap! This is a family cruise ship so if you like to sunbathe in a quieter area there is a quiet zone at the front of the ship. On windy days or if you want absolute peace the best place is a sneaky place we found at the back of the shop starboard side! You might get a little soot though but is great for dolphin spotting near Morocco! Anyway, we had an extremely relaxing and luxurious honeymoon and have visited some amazing places. We have fond memories of the ship and can’t wait to book our next cruise. We met some lovely people, saw some beautiful sunsets and sunrises and have the privilege of seeing dolphins 3 times naturally swimming along side us! Fantastic time.

Fabulous Itinerary but Overall Experience of Ship Average by JennieI

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Scandinavia

The cruise itinerary was great and loved Norway. We both felt that the staff on board of Britannia didn’t seem to want to be there. Food in the MDR was very average so we spent most of our evenings having to pay to eat elsewhere. We usually cruise with Celebrity which is far superior both in Staff awareness/helpfulness, MDR and the whole feel of the ship. Would we go on Britannia again??? If the itinerary suits but, not otherwise.

Our first ever cruise to... by lisacradz

Sail date: /
Ship: Britannia

Our first ever cruise to see the Norwegian Fjord's and it has knocked our socks off! (2 adults, 2 teens) From handing our car key over to the CPS staff, to collecting it today, everyone has been so friendly and helpful. I was moved to tears when I first stepped on Brittania, the Atrium is stunning! The food is amazing, most places are immaculately clean, the staff are delightful, so much to see and do, entertainment is fab and a great choice and so much food to try! Either silver service breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea & dinner, or buffet style help yourself, or poolside fastfood snacks, burgers, hotdogs, chips and pizza, or grab and go ready prepared sandwiches and salads, even midnight snacks after youve finished your evening (which we never made). We have truly loved every second and for us, there is no better way to travel! Not looking forward to the much needed diet tomorrow but I guess holidays are for letting your hair down and loosening your trouser belts! Just Fabulous!!!!

Excellent first experience of P&O and the Britannia by DrewTrace

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Scandinavia

Excellent cruise and a great introduction to both Britannia and P&O. We are definitely P&O converts and will definitely cruise with them again and would not hesitate to return to Britannia despite it's size ( this had worried us originally due to a previous bad experience on the similarly sized NCL Epic). The only vibe downside for us was the obstructed view cabin, however our own fault for booking and have learned from our experience.

Bit of a let down.very pretty 2 ports out of 4, ohers we felt werent seeing by sue21

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Scandinavia

Staff were excellent. Let down by a what we thought was a senior crew member telling another he was no good and wont be staying! Disembarkation was its usual mess, porters who assisted me were first class, Lifts were a terrible issue crew should be there to supervise lifts. People who has a mobility issue were having to walk down the stairs, with cases.. When will you get yourself organised

great by birthdaybabeuk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

the ship, while it was beautiful, it was cut in half. the lift took you to deck 5 but you needed to be on 7 to walk along the ship to get to the top levels. the food was beautiful, the chefs do an amazing job and the waiters are faultless. our cabin steward was very good he was polite and efficient. the cabin was always immacculate. the tipping was annoying, it was too expensive and you can never tell who gets the money, we opted out of the gratuity and decidede to tip who we wanted too.

Absolutely fabulous cruise of Norway by Moolie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Scandinavia

For our first cruise we were extremely impressed. Britannia is a beautiful ship. Take a book for sea days if your not feeling active. Plenty of places to hang out if you don't fancy sitting round the pool. Take in the entertainment. Norway is absolutely stunning.

Great ship, food is great but limited choices compare to others, lack of activities for teenagers. by eeem

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Europe

Ship is big but a nightmare to go around, lift and stairs inconsistent. No water park features like slides on other crusie lines, not much fun for teenagers, apart from the game room (don't want them to play electronic games all the time). Food is a bit limited, mainly English and Indian. Not much choices and everyday, virtually same food on the buffet and restaurant menu. Entertainment such as night shows is very good. There are other many activities for different ages. We particular like the quiz sessions. The cabin steward is very good and polite but staff in buffet and restaurant bit static without any smile.

Has a great time on Britannia by Ericblack

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Europe

Went with my in laws 6 of us in total, all first time cruisers, had a great time and the staff could not have been any better . My only niggle and it is minor is that our cabin balcony could have been slightly wider, but everything else went like clockwork and was really enjoyed

Beautiful Norway by sweetpea12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Scandinavia

This was our 1st cruise and it didn't disappoint. Norway is stunning and the people very friendly. Yes it's expensive over there but we didn't mind paying. Just to give an idea of pricing, we went to Starbucks and for two coffees and two sandwiches it was £25.00. Bottle of water around £4.50
