Absolutely love this ship. Incredible. Stylish, lots to do, great entertainment. Loved it. Would be my number 1 choice of ship anytime. Takes a bit of time to learn your way around but easy enough in the end.

Britannia cruise to norway by MrBaker

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Scandinavia

This was the best cruise that I have been on, and easily the best ship that I had travels on. Everything was really good. Just didn't like that you now have to pay for room service since my last 2 cruises I didn't need to pay.

Britannia is a lovely ship... by DavidGail

Sail date: /
Ship: Britannia

Britannia is a lovely ship and my wife and I both agree the best in the P&O fleet. We have sailed on a few ships on P&O and other carriers Royal Caribbean, Celebrity X, Cunard and Princess. She is up there as one of the best along with the Royal Princess and of course the QM2. What makes Britannia so special is the all round value for money, the entertainment, the specialist restaurants (Sindu is amazing) as well as the afternoon tea in the Epicurean. The Limelight Club where you have a meal while watching headline acts is really good and would again highly recommend and worth the additional charge. Britannia has some lovely little touches all your photographs on a USB stick for £90 sounds expensive but if you can have a real portfolio of holiday snaps if that is your thing. This includes all the formal night pictures which there was 4 on our cruise. You can have as many pictures as you like. They did a charity event where one guest did the noon Captains announcement from the bridge, again, a lovely touch and all in a good cause. How many other carriers would do this for commercial gain! The staff were friendly and helpful and no exceptions, Simon in Costa Coffee was a real stand out, however everyone goes out their way to say hello and just make you welcome. Finally, P&O are famous for their sail away parties and the Gibraltar one was as special as ever. Brilliant just brilliant, it is nice to see a company not embarrassed to be proud of it's British heritage and to celebrate it. Well done P&O I have tried many ships and carriers, Britannia you have won the Gold medal.

Wonderful Britannia by Julie812

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

A great cruise shame about not stopping at Guernsey and when we first went on Britannia we were told the lifts were for disabled people not for able bodied people. Shame about disembarkation but has it put me off certainly not

This cruise was everything and... by Ayanski

Sail date: /
Ship: Britannia

This cruise was everything and more. The staff are amazing and do friendly. Nothing is ever too much. The layout of the ship didn't bother me and no lift took more than a few minutes to arrive. The food was excellent. The entertainment was top rate with something for everyone.... If I could find something to quibble about it would be the size of the chairs for the studio and theatre as a bigger lady, they aren't comfy to be in for a length of time.

Wrong Title for Cruise by bobdwyer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Scandinavia

First of all, Britannia, I have read many reviews about the ship, It does have it's faults however, generally it is a thing of beauty, the superior balcony cabin we had was beautiful and I've never said that about a cabin before, but it was just as well as we spent most, and I mean most of the cruise in it.

Fjords Cruise, we actually saw One Fjord and that, only if you were up at 2.00am to transit it inwards and missed your dinner and the show to see the outbound transit !!!

Yes, the weather was not P&O's fault, and it was bad, but ,in my opinion, the ports of call were not fit for purpose with the exception of Stavanger and Bergen.

The cruise title is a complete misnomer and I note they are still running this B717 cruise through next year.

I heard so many complaints about the itinerary from other cruisers it was ridiculous.

When you look at the itinerary description in the brochure they have been very clever and I have told them so in my feedback form so that we have no recourse for breach of contract. but. I really do not understand why P&O seem to be following a CHEAP, for them, itinerary and charging top dollar to it's customers.

Loved this ship. So shiny and new, food and service was fantastic. All crew so friendly and helpful. Only negative is the lack of promenade deck. And the pool deck feels a little too enclosed with all the glass screens around the hand rails

Baltic Cruise Delight by Connectorman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Scandinavia

Our cruise around the Baltic Sea took us to 7 destinations each of which was a delight. Stops in Helsinki, St Petersburg, Talliin, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo and Bruges gave us the chance to see many fantastic locations with incredible sights and experiences. I would say the two day Splendour of St Petersburg tour was a bit of a slog though, simply because there is so much to see they try to cram so much into each day. Oslo, Copenhagen and Bruges were our favourites especially the Bruges in a day tour which gave us a guided tour, free time to explore on our own and a canal bout tour. Definitely worth doing. Helsinki and Tallinn are both easily done by yourself without the need of a guided tour.

Britannia is a fine ship and the quality of food/service were very good, possibly a little better than our cruise on Aurora last year. My wife is coeliac and so needs gluten free food. Everyone in the restaurants on board was really knowledgable and helpful, particularly the head waiter in the main dining room who made sure my wife had gf food wherever she ate.

The cabin was pretty good, the balcony just about big enough for two and our cabin steward was excellent.

The entertainments crew were very good. Shows were big productions with good use made of the video wall in the main theatre and good quality celebrity acts. WE enjoy quizzes and those were in abundance and good fun.

My only slight gripe is with the lifts. There are three banks of lifts which should really be enough for 3400 guests but for some reason there were always large queues and no apparent logic in how the lifts would get to any floor often with a lift on a floor just above or below sailing past your floor and leaving you waiting for one which is many floors away and which stops on every floor.

Would say that every crew member we dealt with were excellent. A credit to the management team.

Overall a very good experience and one which I would thoroughly recommend.

Second trip on Britannian by sandilands

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Scandinavia

I have been on Britannia twice and both trips were great. Some people did not like the ship but it is like marmite you either love it or hate it and I love it. I enjoyed most of the excursions but I found the crowds at St Catherine Palace were such that we queued for an hour which was made even worse by the heavy rain. The food on the ship was good and our waiter made dinner in the Peninsular Restaurant a wonderful experience. The only gripe about food was in the Horizon buffet where the choice at dinner was poor. Overall though this was a wonderful trip.

Britannia was absolutely fabulous! P... by diapar

Ship: Britannia

Britannia was absolutely fabulous! P & O have an outstanding product in this particular ship. From booking to departure every step in the process was first class. The crew worked very hard to make our holiday enjoyable and it was. The food was good, especially in Sindhu, which was exceptional! The entertainers put their all into their performances. Overall, very pleased with the cruise, the ship and the experience.

B714 21 to 28 May... by colinm

Sail date: /
Ship: Britannia

B714 21 to 28 May 2017 Norway Fjords. When making booking first ensure what the rooms above or adjacent are used for. When we made our booking using the deck layout shown on Shipmate it does not show what the spaces in white on cabin decks are used for. We had a linen room next door to our disabled room D315 which the linnen lift would wake you up at about 6am !!! Not amused !! Please check before confirming accomadation.

Ship: Britannia

Beautiful ship but maybe the atrium doesn't have the same wow factor as some of the older ships, but the modern cabins and the superb theatre more than made up for this. Didn't experience any problems with their being no central stairs so not sure what the problem is. Great food, wonderful staff and excellent entertainment. Would go on Britannia again certainly.

A great boat been on... by LennonMcKenzie

Sail date: /
Ship: Britannia

A great boat been on it before. Facilities for all ages, right from the toddlers to the older generation on board. Staff are always very professional and extremely helpful - happy to help for all of your needs. The boat itself is amazing with cabins from an inside to a suite, even some with a balcony. For those who like some child-free time the Limelight club is there for you - famous acts for you to enjoy.
