Horrible experience for the money. The food was horrible, there was way too many things not working on the ship. Staff was rude. The soda package was a complete waste of money. We were served soda out of flat 2ltr bottles!

Bathroom had a horrible odor, shower was very dirty especially the shower curtain. Makes me puke to think about it now. We were to have cpap equipment and diabetic equipment in the room and we didn't have it until I complained to customer service. Also the bed was hard as a rock. The walls were way way to thin. Too many noises. You could literally hear everything in your rooms. Not exactly a relaxing time.
Very disorganized. Took way too long to get on board. We were there at least 3hrs early and we ended up being the last to board due to poor organization.
Small port and 3 ships were there. You could hardly walk because of the amount of people there. No variation in the shops and extremely expensive and people were very rude.
The port we were at was a complete disappointment. The shopping was literally all the same in each store. We took a historic tour which was a disappointment. We have cruised in the past and was at a different port with ALOT more shopping and variety of merchandise.
If you ever go to Costa Maya again walk though and out of the tourist trap port area. Once you get outside the fence you can take a taxi into Mahahual (about a mile or so away). We have been there twice and both times did just that. Lots of locals hocking their goods, inexpensive drinks, great authentic food and a nice beach to hang out at. Very relaxing and fun day for us.
Cruising is definitely not for you. Another review was posted regarding the exact same cruise and they had a completely different experience and rated the food, service and overall cruise as excellent. I guess it has to do with attitude and whether you are looking for the good or bad.
Cruising isn’t always for everyone, I think we all have different expectations. I read through reviews and see from one end of the spectrum to the other regarding same ship and same cruise dates.
