The Food was a dissapointment

Sail Date: September 01, 2014

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

I had always recommended Royal Carribean as the best ship to cruise on because of the food but the Brilliance of the Sea was a let down. The menu appeared to be on cost cutting with the menu and the quaulity of the food. Of note the coffee and bacon was excellent and I must stop there. As an example the apple strudel had a geletanis sticky filling devoid of apples where it appeared starches were added to strech the filling.

Pros: The coffee was the best ever

Cons: The food was below the Golden Corral Buffet. The desserts were tastless the meal bland

Recommends Brilliance of the Seas? No.

Ship Quality
The ship it's self was beautiful and the crew was excvellent
Food and Dining
The menu selection was poor at best and showed signs of cost cutting. The breads were all served cold and rationed. There was no specialty foods ie sushi being offered as a treat or Death by Chocolate/ special food events. The anytime dining cost extra and appeared over booked by I had no problems personally
Cabin / Stateroom
Service and Staff
The Cruise Director was fantastic. He was everywhere all the time
