Love this ship so much.... by baldylee

Sail date: /
Ship: Azura

Love this ship so much. However, I prefer the ventura for only one reason. The indoor pool. The sea screen is good, but not for me. The staff are attentive and fabulous. The presentation is faultless and the ship is spotless. Brodies bar, the planet bar and manhattan bar are exceptional. Well done P&O

Fabulous Cruise Ship by bribieisland

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Azura / Destination: Europe

There's no area for comments about the Monte Carlo Port stop. This was a disappointment for us as P&O had mixed up our excurison tickets, and issued two of our party on a different trip. We didn't notice till the day and they couldnt swap it for us. In fact they were rude, said we should have checked. This made it difficult for our party of 6, as two are disabled and needed assistance. We had to split up. Loved Nice though and the guide was excellent.

Our first cruise and we loved every second of it. 5⭐ treatment from beginning to end. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Would highly recommend. Looking forward to cruising on Brittania next year

This review is from a... by theface1972

Ship: Azura

This review is from a family of 4 (boys aged 12 & 16) who have never cruised before. My parents cruise many times during the year & when we decided to go for it they re recommend Azura as our first ship. They also advised us to do a taster cruise , but we ended up on the 13 nighter around the Med ! Well, in a nutshell it was everything we had hoped & more. We had no comparison as our regular holidays involve all inclusive to the regular Med resorts or in a lodge in Scotland!. So, for any family who is currently undecided about cruising - just go for it !! The ship was great , with a very good "vibe" & we had no complaints with food or service. The facilities & entertainment were excellent. Our boys tried the kids clubs, but opted to just do their own things. We visited great ports & saw the sights - Pisa,FC Barcelona,Monaco & many more. The whole experience is one we will never forget & having two boys of this age means they can appreciate what they have seen & done. All in all a fantastic holiday on a lovely ship & as said earlier........... go for it !

Guernsey weekend by hampshirehog

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Azura / Destination: Europe

GOOD POINTS

1. Nice break away with family

2. Great shows

3. Great entertainment (quizzes, karioke, bands etc)

4. Clean ship

5. Decent shops

BAD POINTS

1. Not enough time - should be 3 nights minimum, felt rushed

2. staff nowhere near as attentive as I have experienced on normal cruises, too much pressure on them

3. food standards about 50% than the usual excellent fayre on offer

4. tender boats being winched at 7am right outside our room

All in all an enjoyable trip with my family but I feel P&O will lose numerous future customers with these sorts of breaks, so different from the excellent standards we have encountered on previous trips (with other cruise companies btw).

Will never go on another 2 night break again but would certainly think about a 3 or 4 night trip in future

First Mediterranean Cruise by oracle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Azura / Destination: Europe

This was my first Mediterranean cruise, and my first time sailing from Southampton. Embarkation proved to be quite relaxed and uneventful, in fact we were on board quite a bit earlier than planned. Apart from the first couple of days the weather was excellent, the variety of ports was excellent, the standard of the cruise ship was very good, but the outstanding thing for me on board was the friendliness and helpfulness of the crew virtually throughout the ship. I would recommend Azura to anyone who asked.

Madeira, Canaries & La Coruna... by nhojsllih

Sail date: /
Ship: Azura

Madeira, Canaries & La Coruna - April 2017. This was our first cruise aboard Azura, but won't be our last! The Azura is locally known as the happy ship and we would certainly agree with that. The team are one of the best we have been looked after by and the venues and entertainment were excellent. The top decks are well thought out, with several smaller areas rather that one big open deck. We particularly liked the oasis pool area, but the other pools are great too. Loved the relaxing decor and the overall atmosphere on the ship. Well done P&O, we will be recommending this ship to all of our friends and family.

We had a fab cruise... by CruiseMonkeys

Sail date: /
Ship: Azura

We had a fab cruise on Azura over Easter which called at Spain, France & Guernsey (cruise A709). The ship, staff, food - everything was fantastic, couldn't complain about anything! We've made a video that starts off with a tour of our inside cabin and then a tour of the ship, after the tours it's our own personal holiday videos and snaps but it should give you a good insight to the cruise and ship. Take a look if you want at: https://youtu.be/LH_ID2xQcEc We also have similar videos of Britannia, Oriana and the Cunard ships on our channel.

Mediteranian 2nd April 2017 by captaintrevor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Azura / Destination: Europe

The entertainment was excellent. Although the way that the young entertainment team spoke to us made me feel I was at a holiday camp. They put on films on the outside screen screen, but it was far too cold to sit there.

It wasn't made very clear about the dining arrangement

I found it difficult to find the cost for the premium restaurants. So as the food in the ordinary restaurant was excellent. I didn't bother with them

Set your expectations accordingly by neonbubble

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Azura / Destination: United Kingdom

This was a weekend cruise from Southampton to Zeebrugge then back. As such, the demographic was heavily weighted towards groups of friends or work colleagues or hen parties so for us as a couple used to mostly couples-based, longer trips it was a bit of a change but we pretty much expected it to be this way. The ship was a Grand-class ship, similar in layout to several of the Princess line that we'd been on before so the layout was familiar although the darker decor made the ship feel a little more claustrophobic and more like a floating hotel. Service was distinctly hands-off; things we were used to such as being served tea/juice at breakfast or having food cooked for you at the poolside were replaced with already prepared, help yourself offerings instead which disappointed us as we expected a little more than just a floating hotel with some entertainment for the price we were paying. Food quality was average and the service in the dining room across the two nights couldn't have been more different; on the first night it felt like we couldn't be shifted out of our seats fast enough whereas the second night dragged. Bar service was generally good, if just a little too impersonal (with one exception). The pub, Brodie's, had a good range of beers although a lot from the menu wasn't available which I'd understand if picking up the ship in the Caribbean but found more disappointing since it had been berthed in its home port. Loved the wall displays in the Planet Bar. We felt the cruise line deserved another chance to see what it would be like on a longer trip, away from school holidays, away from the sunshine, just to see how an older, more couples-based cruise would pan out so will be trying them again but even if it was exactly the same it would be okay if taken with the attitude that it was to be a cruising experience at the lower end of the refinements scale.

Lovely ship but by nadinepole007

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Azura / Destination: United Kingdom

Went on a mini cruise to Belgium 5th August 2016, the ships public areas were lovely but I felt the service was lack luster.  As it was a mini cruise we only stayed in an inside cabin which unfortunately smelled strongly of urine in the bathroom.  I did complain about the smell both on the ship and after the cruise but felt P&O simply did not care. We did an excision to see villages of Bruges and a chocolate factory, what a rip off.  The so called chocolate factory was a shop not a factory at all and as for the tour of the villages, no comment.    I wish P&O's sailaway music was not so cheesy and they at least varied it every now and then.  I had booked a weeks cruise for September  2017 with them but decided we would rather lose the deposit and booked a week on RC's Navigator of the seas instead. We will not be sailing with P&O again.

Our 1st cruise and within... by sgreen01

Sail date: /
Ship: Azura

Our 1st cruise and within 2 hrs of being on board I wanted off felt too overwhelmed with the embarkation and muster and the sheer amount of people luckily for me I settled in and managed to thoroughly enjoy our 2 weeks crews in the Med. We met up with some lovely shipmates who were very friendly and guided us in the right direction. crew were friendly and helpful at all times and room was clean and tidy and our steward was fab. We’ve now booked future cruises and back on Azura Dec 28 18 for new year and can’t wait cruising is definitely our sort of holiday x

My second cruise after we... by pjd8283

Sail date: /
Ship: Azura

My second cruise after we caught the bug. Booked it as it was relatively cheap and the bug had taken hold. Iberian cruise, so we crossed the BoB - bit rocky but fun! The ship was lovely. Food was lovely, we didn't particularly enjoy sindhu as much as we thought we would. The entertainment was excellent. Mark walker the comedian was brilliant. I would probably pay to see him again. Lloyd Davies the other comedian who did a set was very average at best. Headliners were the usual. The cabin was lovely. We were right up on A deck. Could not fault it. Our captain was fantastic. Our favourite captain so far. Very vocal, informative, sincere and funny. Captain Camby who (since returning) I have learnt he is well thought of amongst Azura fans. Plenty to do on this ship. We didn't have the best weather but didn't have any problems in finding things to do. I would recommend the Azura to anyone.

We had a bad time... by Paul162

Sail date: /
Ship: Azura

We had a bad time on Azura as we had bad weather and spent a lot of time in our cabin. We made use of the room service which became a god send and we spent a lot of time watching TV. The entertainment on the channels were great. This was the first time we had an outside cabin with an obstructed view. Not an issue at all. If you're thinking of booking one of these then go for it.
