Wonderful River Cruise by tdhawes10

If you are looking for a calm quiet cruise with a few activities to do if you want, this is for you. We did one or two excursions at every port, so you get a feel for the place you are docked at. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Great River Cruise by frenchieheart

We have done 30 ocean cruises and this was our 1st river cruise. Being an active person, I was a little worried this would be to laid back for me but boy was I mistaken. Avalon did a spectacular job of scheduling land excursions in at all the right times. Our weather was great-which was a big plus for making this such a great vacation.

Interesting Danube cruise, for first time cruiser by tototoo

not enough time in each port. I enjoyed the tour leaders - the one in Nuremberg was my favorite, gave us a real sense of German people. GREAT food and Service.

Make friends with staff and fellow passengers they all have such great stories and experiences to share! Be flexible - the water levels are unpredictable and the team will do everything they can to meet your itinerary and when it is not possible still substitute wonderful experiences and excursions!

READ up on the places you will stop. Oh, and don't order a sparkling water on your first day. we were charged for it; we only had wine with dinner to keep the bar bill down.
