Review summary

I've been wanting to sail the Anthem of the Seas from the day they 1st hit the waters. Was disappointed that the Bionic Bar was out of service. The outdoor pool was smaller than expected. Way too many people in there including the hot tub! There were quite a few kids in the hot tubs which turned me off! It was a boiling pot of water festering. Kids should be banned from the hot tubs. I loved the outdoor movie screen by the pool. The pool bar closes down too early though. We ran in to some rough waters coming back 8/30. So, bring some Bonine or other seasickness meds just in case. Overall, it was a great cruise.

Great. FYI, bringing your own soap, lotions , shampoo and conditioner. They give you those tiny bars of soap. No lotion and they have that shampoo/conditioner pump system in the shower. I always bring my own supplies no matter where I go anyway.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey Did not visit port

I live in NJ...no desire to tour it....lol

We took a private RC excursion tour around the island. If you opt to do this request "Edwina" she was FANTASTIC!! We learned so much about the island!! If you do the RC Horseshoe Bay excursion...AVOID the driver Brian!! He was arrogant! It can't hurt him to acknowledge a person and say good morning or hi. He just took the tickets, barked orders "do not get on my shuttle wet and with sand on you. Be at the pickup at 12:30 sharp or you will get left" I mean really...he is doing a BEACH excursion so what does he think will happen when people board his shuttle? I would not do this again through the ship because it costs 29.95 per person when you can get a $7.00 shuttle at the end of the pier there and back. For those that said on the FB RC page the shuttle and taxis make you walk up the hill to them, it's NOT TRUE! There were plenty of shuttles and taxis waiting at the entrance of the beach for anyone needing a ride back to the port.

I'm booked in AORD next Oct, so I'm hoping the weather @no storms since we just weathered Harvey here in Houston, Tx. Not nothing couldbe a bummer, other than what we witnessed @ people sufferedlosses. So it's just a cruise you can re-do.

agreed Gil155..go cruisen when school in sessions and it's the parents fault for allowing there kids in the hot tubs

Kids shouldn't be in the for health reasons and I believe the signs state that, no one under 16... then again you can always go to the Adult only Solarium and avoid the kids if you choose... Just an fyi, we went on our honeymoon cruise 10+ yrs ago and everyone cheered when they announced only 42 kids on board during the muster drill.... that just means there are 800+ more adults and trust me you will notice that more than some children hanging around.... and typical the adults are more annoying lol. Cruise on!

I avoid the hot tubs always. It is creepy...like bathing with strangers. Uh, nope!

Bionic bar is a disappointment, you didn't miss anything. I posted a video to YouTube from my first Anthem cruise - jnepa

Sorry the Anthem of the Seas let you down. Perhaps more your fellow cruiser than the ship itself. Try again when school is in session and one of your issues should be mitigated.
