Review summary

Ship was newer and offered more amenities than Independence of the Sea, but overall service and attitude of staff was more positive on IOS.  Need better organization/communication for signing up for on board activities and departures.  Sushi class was fun (should offer better food to learn with).  Cupcake class was disappointing - not too organized nor enthusiatic by staff including main chef (man).   Food in main dining room and Windjammer was better on IOS.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food and dining room service were better on Independence of Sea. Windjammer Cafe was below average - food very bland and greasy and note proper temps.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Northstar was unique. Ripcord was too short - please be sure to ask for specific instructions on preparations for resv - no cruise pics on last day!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Shows were average at best.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Clean overall but need to better service trash/dish/glassware in pool area and room hallways

Cabin / Stateroom

Too far from elevator. Doors do not shut properly if not slammed or pushed.

Ship tip

Book as many activities as possibly allowed online before embarking and asap. Go to main dining rooms as possible for brft, lunch, dinner (Windjammer Cafe - buffet service's food very average). Read about requirements for Ripcord before resv.
