Review summary

The Anthem of the Seas was Ok - I was expecting so much more for the price. Even the specialty restaurants were too expensive.  I'm not a cheap person, but I've been on other cruise lines and the weren't even close to these prices.

The facilities were wonderful, loved the Solarium, Indoor pool and Bumper Cars!!

Entertainment was good

Food was ok.

Worst part of the cruise was the Buffet closed at 9pm and if you wanted to eat anything after 9pm you had a choice of complimentary Hot Dogs at the Aft of the boat or Pizza and finger sandwiches in the center of the boat - these were the only two places to get food 24 hours a day and nothing healthy to eat.  Of course there were plenty of places you could "BUY" food. Turned me off to this cruise -

Would not go again.

Ship tip

If you don't book your dinning and shows before you go, dont' worry or wait on line when you board the ship, you can do it on the app after you have sailed!

RC is affordable for the average person. That's why we pay extra for speciality restaurants etc- you can get through the entire cruise without extra charges- your choice. I have not tried the more expensive cruise lines because I am satisfied with what I get for the prices with RC. I'm sure there deals to be made with the more expensive lines- depends on the time you have to seek them out. I'm looking forward to taking my whole family (9) on the Anthem in July- we were on in January- to see this ship through their eyes.

Tired of being nickel and dimed. I paid my fare I use what's complimentary and still enjoy my vacation

Carnival has free room service, also has items for a charge on the menu.

Times change , thats for sure :)

when i first sailed, room service was free, but you'd tip. then it was a fee from 12 midnight to 5am...fee was 3.95. now jumped to 7.95. even free pizza on whatever line cost you $5 delivery. and the cruise lines want a $14/per person service charge and 18 % gratuity on beverages.

Why would using room service for a fee be a complaint? Nothing I ever read when booking our first cruise read " all inclusive" ...was I supposed to assume it was? are other cruise lines all inclusive?

room service is 7.95 now, not free except maybe coffee in morning

I read Carnival has 24 hr room service. That's not available on Royal Caribbean?

I too am disappointed with the lack of snacks between 9 pm and breakfast. I have been booking NCL cruises because they less expensive and have snacks at buffet until 11:30 pm
