Review summary

This was my second cruise with Royal Caribbean.  Anthem of the Seas is a much larger ship than the first one I took (Enchantment of the Seas).  Overall, it was a wonderful time.  The weather was great and there was plenty to do on-board. The food in all the venues was tasty, well presented and plentiful.  All the staff members we encountered - from wait staff to room stewards to others you passed in the halls - were very pleasant.

There were 4 of us traveling together.  We enjoyed our trip up in the North Star.  What a view!  My daughter-in-law tried iFly and had a great time. We did the Puzzle Room and were so close to figuring it out!  Another 5 minutes and I bet we'd gotten it!

We had a balcony room.  It was way up in the back on the 13th floor.  You would never know we were under the Windjammer.  Never heard chairs or people moving about.

Spectra's Cabaret was amazing!  The cast was so talented!  We thoroughly enjoyed the show.

The $10 shopping spree was lots of fun and we took home some real bargains.  There were quite a few shopping opportunities on board - sales in the main walkway as well as a variety of shops.

We opted for my time dining.  That way we were able to eat whenever we were ready.  I think the only complementary dining room we didn't eat in was American Icon.  We didn't try any of the other venues that had additional cost.

When I sail again, I will most likely choose a smaller ship again and a set dining time.  With so many passengers, and no set dining time (and table mates) everyone was pretty much doing their own thing.  I prefer a main dining hall and seeing the same folks at dinner.  It gives everyone a chance to connect and share what they did during the day.

Overall, it was a wonderful getaway.  I enjoyed Coco Cay, Nassau and Cape Canaveral.

Plenty to do - if you were bored, it's your own fault.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Spectra's Cabaret was fantastic! 270 is quite the showplace!

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
No kids with me to comment - although it appeared there was plenty for them to do.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward, Gregory, was fantastic. His towel animals were awesome!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship. Too bad some folks felt it necessary to deface some of the pictures in the elevators.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Plenty of closets/hanging space/drawers for both of us ladies. Lots of room and loved the balcony. We didn't spend as much time on it as I thought we would. I may forgo it next trip and just go up to the pool deck when I want some sunshine and fresh air.

Ship tip

Once you are on board, you can use the Royal IQ app to book shows, iFly, North Star, the Puzzle Room and more. No need to wait in line to book things.

I too took a smaller ship last time, Grandeur of the Sea but Anthem on the 17, can't wait. Agreed with almost everything you said except for the main dining when you have to dress up and meet the same people every night. The folks we met last year, 2 of which dominated the whole conversation every night and the fact that our waiter didn't know any of us was very disappointing!! So of course,we opt out and save a bundle in gratuities!!!!! That's a plus..
