Review summary
This was my second cruise with Royal Caribbean. Anthem of the Seas is a much larger ship than the first one I took (Enchantment of the Seas). Overall, it was a wonderful time. The weather was great and there was plenty to do on-board. The food in all the venues was tasty, well presented and plentiful. All the staff members we encountered - from wait staff to room stewards to others you passed in the halls - were very pleasant.
There were 4 of us traveling together. We enjoyed our trip up in the North Star. What a view! My daughter-in-law tried iFly and had a great time. We did the Puzzle Room and were so close to figuring it out! Another 5 minutes and I bet we'd gotten it!
We had a balcony room. It was way up in the back on the 13th floor. You would never know we were under the Windjammer. Never heard chairs or people moving about.
Spectra's Cabaret was amazing! The cast was so talented! We thoroughly enjoyed the show.
The $10 shopping spree was lots of fun and we took home some real bargains. There were quite a few shopping opportunities on board - sales in the main walkway as well as a variety of shops.
We opted for my time dining. That way we were able to eat whenever we were ready. I think the only complementary dining room we didn't eat in was American Icon. We didn't try any of the other venues that had additional cost.
When I sail again, I will most likely choose a smaller ship again and a set dining time. With so many passengers, and no set dining time (and table mates) everyone was pretty much doing their own thing. I prefer a main dining hall and seeing the same folks at dinner. It gives everyone a chance to connect and share what they did during the day.
Overall, it was a wonderful getaway. I enjoyed Coco Cay, Nassau and Cape Canaveral.
