Smart ship Anthem

Sail Date: March 27, 2016

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The first few days were a nightmare. This new smart ship idea is like your smart phone.  Anything you wanted to do had to be set up on IPADS throughout the ship. That's means you had to coordinate your dining times, with your excursions and your entertainment. You had to make appts to see some of the shows. If you didn't, you didn't get in. Not a fan of this, too much thinking involved.  The entertainment they had was good but not much variety. Be careful where your storeroom is. We were on the 7th floor forward.  The music hall on the 3rd and 4th floor. Every single night until 2am or later we could hear the base beat of the music in our cabin. Because the DJ started at midnight stated in the cruise compass.

Cabin / Stateroom
Our room steward Juliette was fantastic. Not once was I worried about getting ripped off. Our room was always fixed whenever we returned. She was very sweet.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Superior disembarkling. Don't know how they did it but we were off the ship 1,2,3.
Ship Quality
Destinations and Excursions
Onboard Activities
Service and Staff
Food and Dining
Desserts weren't as good as other cruise lines. Specialty dining; save your money. Service not as good, a baby cried through most of our dinner and there were 2 bday singing session. Not very quiet or special.
Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey
Labadee (Cruiseline Private Island)
Go to Cove beach is what I was told.
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Not much going on there. Not a duty free port.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
The place to shop. This is my favorite island. Dutch, French, shopping, gambling, beach.
Fort-De-France, Martinique
Not much going on here.
Bridgetown, Barbados
Not much going on here. Take a tour. We went to the beach.
Basseterre, St. Kitts
The place to shop. Don't go on the train ride. Over priced and too long.

The ship was beautiful. There are classes though.. If you get a suite or higher, you get to eat and go on the ship where others are not allowed.
