This was our fourth Holland America Cruise\, the ship is very dated and without the amenities of some of the newer ships. There didn't seem to be enough staff to keep up with the passengers. Our state room was never cleaned before noon and the dining room staff while very nice\, was totally understaffed. Worst service of any of our Holland America cruises.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was good but not great. You would think that an Alaska cruise would have crap legs somewhere on the menu.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Typical entertainment for a small ship\, however the magician and comedian were excellent.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Very nice but the ship was understaffed in comparison to past Holland America cruses.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
It appears the Carnival is spending the bulk on their money on the Princess line allowing Holland America to suffer.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Stateroom was typical for an older ship\, room didn't ever have a flat screen\, just an old style box tv.

Pros: Small Ship

Cons: Lack of service

Recommends Amsterdam? No.
