A Nice Cruise...but...

Sail Date: May 30, 2009

Reviewed: 7 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

Nice cruise in spite of the drawbacks

Pros: The entertainers...especially the Amsterdam singers and dancers

Cons: The little dinky oceanview room with dirty windows

Recommends Amsterdam? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
The oceanview room had dirty porthole windows. The room was so small we didn't have a table and had to ask for a chair. It was clean and the room attendant was great..kept our ice bucket full always.
Service and Staff
The staff was willing when they understood what we wanted. Their command of English wasn't as good as on previous HAL cruises. No assistance with trays in the Lido dining room.
Entertainment
All entertainment was top-notch!!! We especially liked the Amsterdam Singers and Dancers!!
Ship Quality
The ship was good, decor was fine and public areas great except for the dirty windows. The Hubbard Glacier would have looked better through clean windows in the Crows Nest!!!!
Food and Dining
The food was great. We enjoyed the seafoodand the lamb dishes. The variety was fun.
Juneau, Alaska
Weather was great...sunny and in the 80's.
Ketchikan, Alaska
Our second time there, we enjoyed all the shops.
Sitka, Alaska
Wonderful, friendly town.
