Review summary

Overall it was an amazing cruise. The Allure is a beautiful, huge ship!! We loved all of the workers and ate way too much!!

Embarkation

It was very quick once we figured out where to go. There were still many people trying to leave the terminal from the previous cruise and we had to ask them where to go to take our luggage. Once we got there it was an easy, wonderful process!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

MDR was just wonderful. Our servers were so great! We did eat at Giovanni's one day and the food was very good. The only complaint was that we were asked if we would like water or sparkling water. We chose sparkling and then got charged for it. We were not told that was an upcharge.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lots of activities....we couldn't fit them all in. Pools were crowded for sure on sea days....but still plenty of chairs available. Loved the zip line, I have never done one because I am scared of heights so this was perfect for me...quick and painless! haha....

Entertainment

Shows were great. Aqua show was my favorite! Watched it twice...just amazing! Mamma Mia was great as well. Ice show was ok, maybe could have been more family friendly. Comedy act was really funny and we are fine with the jokes...we can handle all of them but the foul language was over the top. I think that should be addressed.

It was perfect for us.

Ship tip

As soon as you can try and walk around and get yourself oriented with the ship so you know where everything is. Don't wait until the last sea day to do all of the fun things on board or you will run out of time!!

Ports of call

Loved Roatan. Wonderful greeting when pulling into port. We went to Maya Key on an excursion and really liked it! We could see the ship which was nice for us and reassuring!

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

We just walked around the port. Lots of shopping and things to see right there. The shop people were high pressure though so that did take away from the experience.

Cozumel, Mexico

Beautiful, we did do a day pass at a local resort right at the port. That was nice, I think I would do an excursion next time . Port was ok, but high pressure shop people and some nasty (pornographic) items for sale at the kiosks. NASTY..glad we didn't have little kids with us.

Disembarkation

I realize when you have 6000 people leaving a ship it is hard to make it an easy process, but lots of unhappy people. The very worst part was standing outside of the terminal waiting for transportation to leave. Uber is not a great choice...we waited for over an hour in the VERY HOT sun...no shade for a car. There should be some shady place for people to stand. It almost feels like at that point Royal Caribbean is done with us and all of that love they showed us on the ship is now OVER.
