Review summary

I was a bit disappointed in the ports of call. We would have preferred Ocho Rios, Jamaica and Cozumel rather than Nassau twice. We understand the hurricane damage to San Juan but RC waited to the very last minute to change to the new ports of call.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
We are Platinum members and had priority boarding. However, the lanes were moving very slowly. Only two windows were allocated for us. The regular boarding lines were moving quite faster in boarding whereas our priority status did us no good.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Its a bit disappointing soft drinks are not included without further cost. Also it seems as if there were more premium items at a cost which I felt should have been included. Our waitress in the American Icon dining room was fantastic. Excellent. Her name is Nomokhazi at table 226. Superb service from her and her assistant.

Onboard Activities

Regarding the 11/26/2017 AoS sailing: I called on Friday October 27th and while I only spoke to one of the telephone agents they checked and saw that there is no change as of Friday 10/27 to the published itinerary. So while they said that's not a guarantee of where the ship will go it's an indication that our 11/26 sailing will follow the standard AoS Eastern Caribbean itinerary since our itinerary on November 26th goes to St Thomas but does not include St Marteen which is still in distress. Maybe we all should meet somewhere on 11/28/2017 to toast the next days arrival in St Thomas:-) That should be an at sea day. Perhaps after lunch in a place like Boleros? Schooner is a good spot, but it has lots of activities scheduled, trivia contests, special interest groups, etc.

DottieDiehl, I am pretty sure our cruise will have the itinerary that was scheduled.

There is a bit of 'gray' area in the way RCCL has described the return to the ports. What should be good news is that Adventurer of the Seas at 137,000 T goes back to St Thomas on November 10th. The only reasons I can guess that Allure would not follow and go to St. Thomas is its size if there is an issue with or near the pier, or if there are unanticipated problems from the Adventurer of the Seas visit on November 10th. It looks like several of us are on the 11/26/2017 cruise:-) Our expectations include the port change possibility, but we are more concerned with not being able to contribute to the economy of St. Thomas than if the ship is diverted. We are happy to be on a premier ship like Allure wherever it ports.

I would also be upset if we spent 2 days in Nassau

If you go on the royal Caribbean website it says the islands are up and running but the next visit is Dec 1 and we will be sailing so I was confused

Sailing on Nov 26th as well but based on what has been posted I don't think it will be changed.

@gdoll_10.yahoo.com I will be going on the Allure Nov 26 and was wondering the same as you,

The late port changes were probably due to not knowing the extent of damage until after the hurricanes pass through the region. I do not fault the cruise line.

I am going on Allure the end of November. That is my fear that I will go somewhere I don’t like or have already been. I have emailed them twice to see our port destinations.
