Review summary

Royal Caribbean is a terrible company who takes advantage of their customers. They have complete disregard for the horrible itinerary changes and have a complete lack of respect for how much customers spent to be on this boat. Travelers, be aware.

Way too small. Pillows are horrible. Always hot, even with door locked. If you even open the door, the temperature goes up about 10 degrees.

Ship tip

Go to the AquaShow the first few nights because they discontinue it.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Nassau, Bahamas

We did Atlantis. The staff there is rude and horrible, but the property is beautiful. Nassau is not a great port and we went twice because Royal Caribbean thought we would like that when they cancelled our other ports:).

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
No, we did not do an excursion. We didn't sign up to go to Mexico and had no interest in spending MORE money to go there.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico Did not visit port

because Royal Carribean thought it would be fun to take us BACK to Nassau!

@colbys84940690. You went on the cruise. What made you choose RCCL amongst all cruise line ? You say that RCCL takes advantage of their customers. How is that? More explanation please.

Your review won’t influence anyone, dude.

So how come you have 0 cruises on your profile. Cruise lines don’t control the weather or people who have emergency life threatening medical issues. That being said read your cruise contract that way you will know what the cruise line is and is not responsible for. If you are really a cruiser and not one if these folks who are on this app to bash a particular cruise line—DON’T SAIL DURING HURRICANE SEASON. BUY TRIP INSURANCE

@loriiurvakis - This horrible company you mention used their ships in humanitarian roles instead of just floating around at sea waiting. They delivered food, water, batteries in the days before governments slowly spun up their relief efforts. They evacuated stranded tourists who had flown in but couldn't fly out. They used another ship to evacuate their own employees from South Florida allowing even extended family members and pets to join them when they were forced to close their headquarters in Miami because of a hurricane. They weren't paid multimillion contracts with FEMA like another cruise is, they did this on their own. You had the option to purchase trip insurance but you chose not to. You want flexibility? Buy insurance! Cancel for any reason.

I wish people who lack common sense wouldn't travel. then we would know the reviews were worth reading.

Some people literally can not be pleased. I don't even know what else to say...there is so much wrong with your statement. All cruise rooms are small unless you book a suite. I just want to know, would you have been more happy going to islands where there is nothing but people trying to rebuild their lives? People died on those islands and all you can think about is yourself... I agree to some extent that maybe they could have offered something, however it is clearly stated that an itinerary can change for any reason including weather...

People are so quick to attack, I agree that RCL is a horrible, money hungry company. Don't force us to go on a cruise that we don't want....flexibility would be nice

And you would rather have gone to hurricane dessimated ports to watch the Islanders trying to put their lives back together, or cruise thru 40 foot waves and 100 mph winds?

ghiagal    7 years ago

You booked during hurricane season without insurance. Ports were destroyed, not one but a few. Throw in 7 cruise lines trying to reroute cruises leaving already limited ports for them to choose from.

twangster    7 years ago

Beyond the itinerary changes, how was the ship? Food? Entertainment? What ports did you actually visit?

Charlou    7 years ago

Cruise itinerary can be change without notice and compensation. You agree to these terms when you book a cruise. And booking a cruise during hurricane season brings the risks higher for a change in your itinerary. If they change ports. Theres a reason. Theres noting left on those islands and it's not safe for travellers. Even with that, you still have the chance to go on a cruise while people on those islands don't even have a home anymore. Stop whining and appreciate what you have. And RCCL must not be so bad cause you gave them 3 1/2 stars.

Cinfalee    7 years ago

Well I guess you'd be unhappy with all the cruise lines then. Changes are mainly made due to weather. Plus, it sounds like you didn't do any trip insurance.

cbelc2    7 years ago

Oh good grief! They’re doing the best they can during a really tough hurricane season! Some ports have been destroyed. It’s been a nightmare for the cruise companies, too.

cruisinthelight    7 years ago

Cruising during hurricane season offers steep discounts...but buyer beware...itinerary changes due to closed or damaged ports, inclimate weather, and other issues more likely to occur. RCCL not only cruiseline changing itinerary.
