Review summary

The best part was visiting the countries, Haiti, Jamaica and Mexico. We never thought we would be able to say that we were in Haiti!

The ship is amazing, which of course it should be as you are on it most of the time. When we first boarded we got a shock with the noise level from all the kids on board - it was spring break - and the pool was jammed and the DJ was pumping up the music. But we found out there are quieter adult areas so we settled in there.

One thing I was amazed at was there is a charge for wi-fi!!! I mean for crying out loud it is 2017. Even hotels gave up doing that years ago.

But I do have 1 big complaint, unfortunately. We booked a tour in Cozumel which was listed as 'Panoramic Tour' and the description read 'Enjoy a relaxing 90 minute tour that takes you on a narrated panoramic drive aboard an open bus. Ride along the coastline, stopping for photos and taking part in a tequila tasting'. (Tour Code CZ3K.

Well it was not an open bus and it did not stop anywhere for photos. It drove us straight to the tequila shop, for over an hour, and then back to the boat. We got a couple of photos taken through the bus window which obviously was not what we signed up for. And we don't drink tequila!

I complained when we were back on board and the next day I got a phone call from the ship's Tour Manager who told me that we still got the benefit of the Tour but subsequently gave us a 50% discount which we were not happy with. I asked for a full refund because if we knew it was just about tequila we would not have booked it. And we certainly got no 'benefit' in fact the opposite was true it actually hurt us as it took about 2.5 hours out of our limited time in Cozumel.

I would suggest the the Tour Manager should go on the Tour, without her badge, and I am sure she would agree that the tour title should be changed from 'Panoramic Tour' to 'Tequila Tour'. And who knows - you might even get more people going on it!

Very clean, well laid out, quiet and facing front it was great being able to see where you are going.

Ship tip

Get one of the dinner packages if you are traveling without kids. Central Park is a real gem.

Ship internet is provided over satellite. 6,000 people on a ship can consume a lot of bandwidth. Satellite internet is much more expensive than land based internet. If it was free it would be so slow due to everyone using it, so by charging it allows them to recover the exorbitant cost of satellite time by those who use it without forcing the many people who like to unplug and avoid the internet to pay for it in higher base cruise fares.
