The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Sail Date: April 19, 2015

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The Good: The service personnel. Top drawer!  The Allure of the Seas is a beautiful ship.  Much to do and things to see and experience. Food much better as long as you are not into eating beef.

The Bad:  1. Headliner Shows: Way below par vs. previous cruises.

                 2. BEEF Meals reminded me of Murray Meats run through metal tenderizer.

                 3. Marketing. On line beverage package more expensive more expensive than to purchase on board. NOT REALLY. Example: on line packages includes gratuity, on board same package do not! Must add 18% to on board package price.  Morethan one person was at front desk questioning!  Front desk personnel had not a clue and needed to wait until the following day to get an explanation

                  4. Reservations needed to get into all shows.  Understand because of the number of people on board. But you could only make one reservation for one Headliner Show.  But ... no information as to what Headliner Show you were signing up for.

The Ugly:    Services that were once free.

                   1. Locker Room, to use Steam Room and Sauna now on this ship wanted $30 a day or $99 a week.

                   2. Tour of the Ship-$140 per person

                   3. Johnny Rockets-it used to be you would only pay for your milk shakes, now a $5.95 per person seating charge.

                   4. Royal C Singer and Dancers-Gone. No More.

5, Self Indulging Show-Monopoly on Ice Show. Skating was terrific, but the content of show was an advertisement of all the pay menus on board ship.  Infomercial.

My wife and I really did enjoy our cruise. Shocked at the beauty and Magnificence of the Ship and equally shocked at the cut in services, entertainment.

We achieved Diamond this trip.  Will be checking out Celebrity in the future.
