Really nice Cruise

Sail Date: May 20, 2012

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The Allure of the Seas is an astounding ship. The size of the ship and the amount of walking required can be challenging to disabled people who are ambulatory but not wheelchair bound. Overall, that part is manageable and the staff was gracious and always willing to assist. The onboard entertainment was absolutely outstanding. The different venues for dining added to the dining experience but we found that the Adagio diningroom on the Allure was more than sufficient for satisfying one's dining needs without the need for paying additional charges for specialty restaurants. The Adagio menu was versatile with a very friendly and accommodating serving staff.

In room charges for bottled water with an added gratuity did not sit well with us. The charge for the bottled water was triple the cost of what is should have been, wherin the cost of the water was almost twice that of soda type beverages. Our balcony ocean view stateroom on the Allure was tight as we have found on previous smaller ships that we have cruised on with Royal Caribbean.

The shows were really outstanding and I recommend that reservations be accomplished prior to cruising, since there are a lot of travelers on standby for seat availability. There is no question that some of the excursions are quite expensive, and one should do their homework thoroughly before booking. Having professional photographs taken onboard is really a nice momento to have, but are quite expensive at $20.00 each for an 8 x 10 photo that one chose to purchase.

Royal Caribbean would do well by listing every single dining venue including snack bars and other facilities, wherein the food is included within the cost of the cruise. Overall our cruise with the Allure was really nice and we would do it again.

Pros: Entertainment, amenities and service

Cons: In room charges and gratuities for bottled water and exccessive charges for excursions
