Fantastic voyage on Allure

Sail Date: November 13, 2011

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

I've never been a "cruiser", preferring rather to fly to an island and bask in the sun for a week. After 7 days with Allure, I'm hooked and am looking forward to another one when we can. The ship was simply amazing. Even though there were 6K people on board, the largest crowd I ever saw was probably a thousand or so on the Boardwalk for Disco Mania, complete with Allure's Village People and Disco Dancers. The shows were great and there were so many eating choices to try that we never got bored. Cabin was great, service was great, stops were great.. top of the line all the way around.

Pros: Variety of choices in food and entertainment

Cons: Pillows on the bed weren't as comfortable as we'd like

Recommends Allure of the Seas? Yes!

Ship Quality
Huge ship, practically new, great service
Food and Dining
Dining room formal meals were excellent. Some of the buffets were just ok. Specialty restaurants (Chops and whatever the Italian place was) were fantastic. My major complaint about the food, believe it or not, was that the donuts weren't Krispy Kreme's, so they weren't sweet enough.
Cabin / Stateroom
We were in 9703, inside balcony above the Merry Go Round. Plenty of storage space (lots of nooks). Bed was very comfortable. Flatscreen tv with online statement viewing.
Service and Staff
Exceptional head waiter who took very good are of us. Jimney, our stateroom attendent, was a joy and did a great job.
Chicago and Oceanaria were fantastic. Blue Planet was very cool, but don't go tired as the "Enya" style music will put you to sleep. Highlight for me was Oceanaria - those high dives were crazy!
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Shopping was just ok there - not overly impressive
Don't Miss: going back to the Allure
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Butterfly farm was beautiful. Our bus driver was an amazingly knowledagable and funny tour guide. Shopping was great.
Don't Miss: Butterfly farm
