Best Cruise Ever

Sail Date: September 11, 2011

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

We never felt like there were 6000 passengers on board. The promenade was crowded during 70's nite and during parades but that is to be expected. The selection of complimentary eating areas was great and the small cover charge eating venues were excellent and not overpriced. We loved the open air areas and the many pools and hot tubs - none ever seemed too crowded. We know the ship is new but even so, every area was cleaned and polished all during our cruise. The Labadee port was well run and got us to the beach quickly. The beach was incredible and again not too crowded. They need better usher control in the shows because late arrivals crowded up at the back and talked a lot, spoiling the shows for those who came on time. Ushers should not have let them in or made them be quiet and move back from those seated. That did spoil our evening shows of Chicago and Abba

Pros: Allure has so many things to do on board

Cons: nothing was bad

Recommends Allure of the Seas? Yes!

Ship Quality
I think the layout and decor are great, it is easy to get around the ship and while the walks are a little longer to get somewhere, we never felt the walks were too much.
Food and Dining
The dining was great. We had my time dining plan and loved it.
We had to cancel our Samba grill steakhouse dinner and they charged us $20 to cancel which we felt was too much.
Cabin / Stateroom
The rooms are a little small but okay - we had inside balcony over Boardwalk area - this was a great location because you could see the diving shows and nightly movies. But with the inside rooms overlooking the boardwalk you get a little noise problem that the door locked cannot eliminate.
Entertainment
More activities than you can ever experience in a weeks time.
Service and Staff
Almost everyone we met were nice to us. We did experience a couple of blackjack dealers in the casino that were just going through the motions and not smiling or talking to the patrons.
Falmouth, Jamaica
Not much to do here for us, it is just now getting open. There were lots of jamican area handicrafts for sale. We just took a walk thru it all and then got back on the ship.
Cozumel, Mexico
the dolphin experience was fun. shopping down town is not so enjoyable unless you like being hawked constantly by the shop owners who actually stand out on the sidewalk blocking your way. we shopped at the group of shops located right at the dock
Don't Miss: dolphin experience
Labadee (Cruiseline Private Island)
the tram made the walk to the beach very easy the beach was absolutely incredible -not too crowded to enjoy the drink service was great and the RCCL provided lunch was also very good.
Don't Miss: A swim at columbus beach in the clear aqua colored waters holding a drink
