An awesome ship!

Sail Date: June 12, 2011

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The Allure of the Seas is an awesome ship offering a great dining variety, evening entertainment and plenty of sports activities. The ship is only 6 months old so everything is clean and beautiful. You'd think with 6200 passengers that you'd feel it was crowded but that was not the case. Only at the evening entertainment did anything seem crowded. The dining experience is the best! Awesome staff and a very relaxing time. The food was great regardless of what we tried. We had a superior oceanview stateroom w/balcony and it was great. Cannot too highly recommend that type of accommodation.

Pros: The staff who took care of us.

Cons: Nassau port visit

Recommends Allure of the Seas? Yes!

Ship Quality
Gorgeous and kept spotless! Also, we could barely feel any movement. Throw away your dramamine!
Food and Dining
The My Time dining option was a great choice for us. We had the same table every night with three of the nicest wait staff you'd ever want - see if you can get Gordon (host), Kumar (waiter) and Edgar (Ass't Waiter) to take care of you in Adagio on Deck 5. You'll be glad you chose them.
Cabin / Stateroom
Loved the superior oceanview stateroom w/balcony! With any of the interior balcony rooms that look out on Central Park or the Broadway you may have noise and light issues from the evening entertainment or those enjoying evening late dining. Also, those balconies get limited breezes - especially when the ship is docked.
Service and Staff
The staff couldn't have been any nicer or more helpful. Our stateroom attendant made towel figures for us every other night and used to give us plenty of laughs when she put my sunglasses on them. We looked forward to what she would do next. As mentioned above, our wait staff was the absolute best.
Plenty to do. We took in all four major evening shows - Chicago, Headliners (comedy duo) and the two musical dance/acrobatics shows - one was water oriented and the other was not. DO make your reservations well before the cruise on-line or no later than the first day onboard while you wait for the ship to sail.
Nassau, Bahamas
Pure shopping. Not much time to tour. Great views of the Atlantis hotel resort.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Beautiful place. The short water taxi takes you right to a gorgeous beach and the shopping district.
Don't Miss: More good shopping.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Very friendly people. Great shopping for the ladies - jewelry and Lladro figurines. You have to go to the other side of the island to see the more scenic parts.
Don't Miss: The shopping as you get an additional $800 customs allowance.
