Very Nice Cruise by Bruce1972

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Family (older children)

The Adventure of the Seas was a nice ship which provided a very good vacation for our family. The ship was a bit overcrowded. The capacity is listed as 3500 guests, but there were 4100 guests on board. The buffet area was very crowded which kept us away. The dining room was tight due to the amount of people being served. The food was very good and the staff was excellent. I can say for sure that the staff won us over not Royal Caribbean.

Love Adventure of the Seas by goodgoldie1

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Large Group

I have been reading and following reviews about Adventure of the Seas and the ports for almost a year. My conclusion is your experience is what YOU make of if. We were a group of 23 and maybe there were a few "glitches" but no worries, it's a vacation. We are an optimistic fun group so we had a non-stop good time. I must say that the staff 100% is the best I have ever encountered. Not once did I walk by any staff member and they didn't say hello, or ask how our day is going. They totally made the experience! I want to book on Adventure again!

Very Disappointing by egb66

This was a very disappointing experience. I have cruised with Royal Caribbean multiple times but I guess a lot has changed since my last time about six years ago. It is understood that Royal Caribbean is in business to make money but sacrificing service and comfort to their passengers should not be a way to make up for their operating cost. Watering down the liquor is really "cheesy". It looks like they have cut down in staff as everybody seems stressed and this is reflected on their interaction with the passengers . Cutting down on valued entertainment is a big lost for the passengers. One gets constantly "pushed" into different ways to spend money on board, (I understand marketing, but this is something else).

Misleading and Disappointing Excursions by DRGFunCruising

Verified Review
/ Sail Date: / Traveled As: Family (older children)

Went with my husband and sons, 19 and 22. Entertainment pretty good. Food was not very good in the main dining room . Not really good regarding snacks when compared to other ships. Only promenade had place and it had the same pizza day after day with no variety. Soft serve ice cream out of the way and didn't find it until last day. They want you to pay for their Ben an Jerry's concession, instead. Excursion to Bar Harbor misleading. Thought lobster bake would be in Acadia Park but they took us to catering hall and between that and bus being over half hour late we had little time to tour park. Nothing to do in New Brunswick and paid a ton of money for whale watch in Halifax and saw nothing. The tour guide on the boat didn't even provide information. She just brought out a lobster and crab which I can see in my local supermarket fish tank. The ports were lovely but not enough time to really enjoy.

Great time for all by swimdive66

Overall the cruise was great. I would recommend this cruise to every-one. I rated the disembarkation poor because you got off the ship easily. Easy to get your luggage. Then waited on a line for about 30 minutes with all your luggage. My suggestion is to get a porter. They carried your luggage and you basically had an express check out.(They went to the front of the line)

Love the ship by lovemycats

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Couple

Regarding handicap access, ship was accommodating. However, the excursions were very taxing. At Bar Harbour, walked the plank to lobster boat. Plank swayed over water, no railings. I was petrified. Halifax bus very high steps. My friends had to pull/push me on and off. We were a party of three couples and had a very good time. It’s a shame I couldn’t experience it able-bodied. Next time!

Amazing time! This was... by KRBFleming

Sail Date: /

Amazing time! This was our first family cruise with my husband and kids 6 & 9. Also cruised with extended family who stayed on other decks. All 16 of us were able to eat dinner together in 2 adjoining tables in the MDR every night at the same time by reserving ahead of time with My Time Dining. Our waiters Mekjimo and Mark were wonderful and very professional and accommodating, especially with the kids. Ship is older and it shows a bit, but cleanliness was obviously a top priority and we were impressed. There was so much to do that we weren’t able to do it all, though we made it a priority to make it to the Flowrider, waterslides, Rock climbing wall, and ice skating. We also played several rounds of mini-golf and spent a lot of time in the pool and hot tub. My husband enjoyed the steam room in the morning and I liked reading and drinking on the balcony. Kids loved the helipad and peek-a-boo bridge and those areas were never crowded. Kids went to Adventure Ocean several times for 1-3 hours at a time, mostly on sea days, and always had fun. The nightly entertainment was hit or miss for us, but the Ice show (good for families) and Quest (adults only) were very fun! Quality of meals varied but there was such a variety that we always found something we enjoyed. Drinks and bar tending service was wonderful also. Wish we had more time to just sit at the bar and listen to the live bands/performers; the little we heard/saw we enjoyed but it was difficult with the kids. The strengths of this ship is the MDR dinner service and overall cleanliness and variety of activities.

Wonderful first cruise experience for myself and family members. Staff was excellent! Couldn’t say enough positive things about our dining staff Maria and Sunny. They were spectacular to say the least.

Just boarded the ship yesterday,... by ksgoldbergtwins

Sail Date: /

Just boarded the ship yesterday, taking our third "ride" on the ship. When we boarded we took our normal walkthrough and were pleasantly surprised on the condition of the ship. The crew is really focused on the upkeep and it shows. We entered our room on the 9th deck and found that it had been renovated with new carpet, bathroom remodeled and new cabinets. We also like the balcony as it did not connect to next door on the left and was the end (steel wall) on the right. The one thing that we found immediately was the large vibration in the room. We have had this before on other snapshot this appears more constant. We went to bed as we followed the coastline out of New Jersey and the vibration continued all night. This morning the vibration is still going and I hope it will disappear soon. Looking forward the rest of cruise and will post more as week goes on.

We had an amazing time... by paulsfd

Sail Date: /

We had an amazing time on Adventure of the Seas. The staff is what makes this a great ship. They are all really top notch. Hardworking and smiling. Joseph and Abigail in the dining room were awesome. This was our 4th time on RCL. It was our 20 and 17 year old sons 1st cruise. I was concerned that their "in-between" ages... Too young for adult fun and too old for the teen stuff, would mean they wouldn't have fun. I was so wrong. They loved every minute of it and already want to book again for next year.

Great 1st cruise by DAngelo

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Couple

I was impressed with Royal Caribbean, on one night upon returning to our room we found a 50$ onboard credit voucher which was nice but even better than that was, we decided not to go on a shore excursion that we pre-booked with Royal and to my surprise, we got a credit on our account. Way to go Royal!!

This was our family's first cruise on Royal Caribbean. The staff were helpful, there were plenty of events and movies and things to do to keep everyone occupied other than the pool. The ship is the right size to allow freedom of movement for our kids without getting lost. We will definitely cruise with Royal Caribbean again.
