Review summary

This was my least favorite cruise of the 6 I've been on. I booked this itinerary thinking we would enjoy the fun on the ship more. The ship was not great, live entertaiment was too little and the ship was full to capacity. We loved Coco cay and would definitely do that again. So much has changed since our last cruise, 10 yrs ago.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Dinning staff in all venues were fantastic. Some dinner menu choices were redundant and boring but still delicious. The wind Jammer was ok but packed with no seating available ever. Chops was a little disappointing which was a shocker. Filet mignon very over cooked. Staff apologized and offered to bring a new one, but we took extra desert instead lol.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Ship was packed to full capacity so pool time for us was minimal and only between 5 to 6 pm which was nice. Hot tubs were fun but packed with kids constantly. Adult only area was occupied by 16 year olds. You had to get a chair by 7 am or you were out of luck. Learned how to play shuffleboard. We played ping pong, miniature golf and trivia.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Great entertainment but frequency was lacking. Only 1 comedy show which was very disappointing. Sail away party was too short. The 3 headliner shows on our 9 day trip were amazing. Schooner bar was fun with trivia and piano tunes. 70s party in the royal promenade was great fun. It was like a big block party.

Children's Programs

My tween was bored. Too big for the kiddie stuff, and too scared for flowrider and rock wall. Coco cay made up for it. The highlight of our trip was the wave pool

Ship Quality

Stateroom was overall clean but in need of new beds (horrible mattresses), carpeted flooring was old, worn and stained. The rest of the ship showed her age. I thought it was recently refreshed, but I didn't feel it. Our Cabin stewardess Gazlee, was the sweetest crew member we met onboard. I wanted to bring her home♡

Needs new mattresses desperately!!! What happened to the mini fridge in your room being stocked??? Carpets need updating. Ship is 20 yrs old and it needs some cosmetic love. Balcony was relaxing and size was sufficient. Daughter loved the Pullman. Storage was sufficient.

Ship tip

Go to deck 4 forward staircase to access the deck 5 helipad for sunset pics. Sky bar is a quiet place to escape. Eat all meals in the main dinning room, the food was great and the dinning staff make your trip most memorable.

Disembarkation

Walked right off with Key service, after amazing breakfast. Our luggage was in clearly marked area. The customs lines were fast and efficient. Our only complaint was Facial recognition. It is annoying and doesn't work if your hair is different from first picture.

Booked the Serenade while onboard. Not loving the obvious cut backs on the Adventure, or the "ship is the destination vibe". Service was great, food was great, ship was too crowded to enjoy the amenities. I'd rather stick to smaller ships with better destinations.

Sorry your cruise didn't live up to the memories. Lots of "de-contenting" of the cruise experience as of late. Mini bars are only stocked on request, towel animals no longer required, lack of bathroom supplies. RC's complimentary beverages include very weak flavored water, encouraging the purchase of beverage packages. Non-refundable deposits even for changes to sailing dates. IIRC Carnival is said to have removed tablecloths in MDR and reduced cabin service to once per day. Hope you try Oasis, since it will sail from Bayonne next year.
