Review summary

My wife and I are diamond members of RCI, with over 128 nights of cruising on RCI. I purchased this cruise a year ago, the price was good, and we had not cruised on this ship before so we bit. We were Royal fans but the fun is wearing off and cruising with Royal is becoming just average. The things that attract us to cruising is 1. Price, 2. dance venues, 3 the service and food and of course the ship itself. The ports of call are ok if you do your homework before getting on board, so have a plan so you don't blow your days out there. The ship seems to be in a clean and in serviceable condition. The interior cabin was small but the steward did a good job keeping us happy. The main dinning on deck three was ridiculously slow and the food was just so-so. Most of the week we just visited the buffet which was good. Unfortunately the Boleros dance club is right next to the casino, were the smoke pores out and ruins a good evening with excellent live bands. I could smell the smoke on deck six, what a shame. I don't like smelling of smoke and leaving there with a headache, so after three nights I had had enough. I thought the show in the Theater were better than average and the ice show was great. The diamond club was ok if that's your thing to sit and drink for hours on end. Disembarkation on the last day was haphazard, in RCI tradition of a ship of that size, with one person directing foot traffic.

Great place for walking and discovering and your phone works, you are on US territory.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Just walk to the beach(maybe ten minutes at most) and have a good time, do not use the water taxi unless you have a mobility issue.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Make sure you have a plan to do some type of excursion this is not a great place to walk and discover.

We cruise Celebrity all the time. This year we are trying our first RC on Adventure of the Seas! I hope we aren’t disappointed! We have been on Carnival, I think going from RC to Carnival is a downgrade! Anything to Carnival is a downgrade!

I have done all the major lines & have found Princess & Celebrity have a step above on all things, service, food, entertainment, etc... will be sailing I. The new Celebrity Edge on Jan 13th. I am very excited with all the eklectic features & venues. Will be trying out the Infinity Balcony cabin, pics look amazing, 42 days

Funny we are getting bored of Carnival and think our 2020 cruise will be Royal or Norwegian

You should switch to Carnival, we did, best bang for your buck. Lots going on, good food, good entertainment, lots of cruises with 4 ports on a 7 or 8 day cruise
