Review summary

We loved the cruise and the itinerary with the many islands, and the service was very good, but there were some shortcomings.   For instance, every day, after arriving back on the boat, there was always a long line and wait for the buffet, and the staff would never open the other side of the buffet to relieve congestion.   Also, there was never any food served on the pool area level, such as we have seen on other cruises, so the only option was the buffet.   Additionally, the buffet never had any ketchup (must have been a shortage), and the staff would always point you to other possible places where ketchup was available (this happened daily).   The ice cream that was available on the pool area deck was never cold, and they would only turn 1 of the 3 available options on (vanilla, chocolate, or mix) at any one time....so the machine was always trying to catch up.   The overall food was good, but I have had better food on other cruises, and was not impressed.   The pool area deck had limited entertainment as well (I only seem to remember music there on the last day, while at sea).   The ship is very nice, including a very nice inside promenade and adult swim area.   I only saw one show, in the promenade area, and always seemed to miss shows in the theater...and I think that was because there may have been only one show per night...hard to say.    I would take this cruise again, but mostly for the great itinerary.

Cabin seemed much smaller than other cruise ships, but we only sleep and shower there, so it worked for us

Ship tip

If you head off the ship during the day, get back early to beat the crowds at the buffet, which is the only available food option (besides Johnny R, that's are additional fees), and the line builds quickly.

usually it's mid to late after noon when people return to ship, buffet is winding down then from the lunch stampede...they are starting to prepare for dinner onslaught, that's likely why you found such poor selection. Also, there is often no live band at the pool while the ship is in port, as most passengers are off the ship. Too bad you missed the shows, the skating oner in Studio B is a must see, as is The Guest game...next time try Oasis if you can
