This was our first cruise experience, and what a ship it is! She is beautiful, with a lot of places to go and things to do. Our cruise was before Christmas, so the ship was all decorated for the holiday season. I must say that I was a bit disappointed in the decorations, as they did not match the grandeur of the ship. Our room steward and our wait staff in the dining room were superb, very attentive and friendly. The food was good, but not exceptional, pretty much like you can get in any nice restaurant. Presentation of the food could have been better as well, as far as appearance goes. We had problems from the first day with our pass card being wrong. It had to be remade at least eight times in the first three days. We encountered a very rude young man at the desk who all but called us stupid for not being able to access the Internet with the card they had issued us. Turned out, after four trips to the desk, that it was their mistake in making the card, not ours. We had some other minor problems with our room card as well, like not being able to exit the ship, which turned out to be a minor, but irritating problem. I will say that my major source of disappointment was the handling of a damaged piece of luggage. They kept acting like they were going to do something about it, and never did. They took it and had it looked at and concluded it could not be fixed but offered no solutions to us on the ship. They told us to call a number after the cruise to get it taken care of. As first time cruisers, we did as they said, and never got any response back from them after many attempts. We sailed out of San Juan, which I would not do again. Also, they did not offer a very well rounded entertainment experience.Overall, we had a good experience, and would cruise with Royal Caribbean, just not from San Juan. It really was an impressive ship, with beautiful amenities and nice cabins. We had nice ports of call, and in all fairness to Royal Caribbean, it was only the fourth sailing of this new ship, and it really was well organized and ran smoothly.
