Our fun relaxing vacation

Sail Date: December 01, 2009

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The ship is beautiful, easy to get around and experience everything that is available on the cruise. The nightly shows were entertaining, a great cruise director and the dining experiences were very good. We enjoyed the intimacy and excellent service at the Portofino restaurant in addition to the food selection. Our cabin with balcony was spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed cruising with the sliding glass door open in the evening so we could hear the waves. A first rate ship.

Pros: The friendly staff and service

Cons: Traffic into and out of the port of San Juan

Recommends Adventure of the Seas? Yes!

Ship Quality
Well maintained throughout, public areas were in tip top shape, public restrooms were easy to locate and were kept clean and neat even during peak use times.
The compass daily newsletter was a great planning tool for the next day's activities from poolside activities, nightly shows, dancing or music in the various bars, nightclubs, casino.
Food and Dining
The website wasn't clear on "My Time" dining and that may be an option we will use on our next cruise. We selected the early seating where the service was excellent and the food fresh, the right temperature, and selection each night varied. Missed the midnight chocolate/dessert buffet extravaganza that we had experienced on the Monarch of the Seas.
Cabin / Stateroom
Comfortable and roomy for a cruise cabin. Ample closet space and hangars. Stateroom staff always appeared mysteriously when we were out and freshened the ice bucket, bathroom, and created the towel creatures for our enjoyment upon return at night.
Service and Staff
Our head waiter at dinner was very attentive and friendly. Always searched us out during the lunch buffet to say hi depending on which station he was working at that day. Cued our wait staff at Portofino, one of whom he had personally mentored, that we were coming.
