Overall your vacation is what you make it. I had an amazing time and again as a regular cruise this experience was phenomenal. As the "Sailabration" that was advertised, it was NOT. And because of this, I will never pay the extra for a specialty cruise again. I will continue to take regular cruises

Embarkation went smooth, my only con was the porters were very demanding of tips. We were getting ready to tip the guy, and before my husband could pull out his wallet good, the man was in his face demanding a tip. Gave him ten bucks, and he makes a sly comment about him being cheap. My mind was blown, because the porter did nothing but stand there while my husband unloaded and loaded our bags to the porters cart. Going through customs was fairly easy, and we were on the ship in about 30 minutes or less. So that was great. Guys burgers was AWESOME, as usual. We went down to our room, and we had the attendant Jocelyn, SHE IS AMAZING!!!!! Please give her a raise! Our room was larger than I expected for a port hole. It was clean, and the AC was cold, so those are all pluses for me. The entertainment on the ship was a little bland. I am more accustomed to Carnival being an upbeat "Fun" style ship. And the staff really kind of lacked the enthusiasm that I am used to. BUT vacation is what you make it, and we definitely did not let this get into the way of us having fun. MDR food was not good. But the LIDO marketplace food, was really good. The guy fixing omelettes in the morning had a really bad attitude. And he was really nasty with an elderly lady who just wanted to know what kind of cheese they had. He apparently has some issue with cheese, because my husband also wanted a different type of cheese in his omelette and he had a very bad attitude about it. He started slamming stuff around and going back and forth with the elderly lady and my husband. Very unprofessional. Quick fix, we just stopped eating omelettes. Very unfortunate because we were on vacay and actually like omelettes. But again, we didnt want to ruin our cruise over some disgruntled workers. Same thing happened to me at the burrito stand when I asked for some sauce. (sauce was empty on the outside station so I stood in line with my taco salad to ask for some) The guy told me to go look on the outside station, and I told him I did, so he then told me to go look on the other side. Which I had already done. Then got a really bad attitude about it, and just threw sauce into one side of the salad. Again, quick fix-- just stopped eating there. I rather keep a good image of Carnival because I have not experienced this on any other ship. And just chalk it up to Murphys Law.---- Cozumel was AMAZING!!! We did an ATV excursion, and I couldn't have had a better day. Last night of the cruise, we sailed through a storm and the boat was rocky. But other than that. Everything is all good. Will I sail Carnival again-- Absolutely! Will I recommend this ship--- Definitely a NO for me.

The Magic was AMAZING!!!! Loved our cruise director Cousin Cookie, and of course his partner in crime BONES!!!! The fun squad was always energetic and verrrrrryyyyy fun! The ship has a nice lay out, so you wont get lost. The food in the MDR was alot better than the Lido. Also the steakhouse was worth the whole 35 per person we paid. Do the free pasta bar instead of paying for Cucina Capitano (unless you absolutely love italian) also, get to Guys BBQ about 30 min early, the line grows FAST! The food there is AWESOME!!!!!. The shows were amazing!!!!! Overall enjoyed.
