November 2017 - Carnival Miracle to Mexico

ANOTHER GREAT TRIP

We have done cruises out of Long Beach and San Pedro. It is super easy as these ports are very close to us and provide easy access. We have done this particular itinerary 4 times now and enjoy it each and every time.

October 2016 - Carnival Miracle to Mexico

5th Cruise with Carnival it wont be my last

We have traveled with Carnival many many many times. We enjoy the age range of people on the ship. We enjoy the cabins. We enjoy the variety of activities and the option to do NOTHING at all. We started with an interior cabin on our first cruise we have now finally upgraded to the Vista Suite. We enjoyed the perks that come with the Suite and the wrap around Balcony was amazing.

September 2015 - Carnival Miracle to Mexico

A very enjoyable cruise

I will start by saying this is my 6th Cruise. my 4th with Carnival. The party I took with me consisted of 3 couples who have never cruised before. We all enjoyed ourselves and the couples that had never cruised before are hooked. They are already asking when we are going to do it again.  I scheduled all of our on shore trips as I am familiar with both Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta.  I enjoy Carnival cruises and they are a great value for what you get. I would always recommend getting a balcony room as for me its the best part of my day sitting on it drinking my coffee.  I have already booked again with Carnival and already having others wanting to join us.  My only issue is that so little time is spent in Cabo San Lucas.

Carnival Miracle

April 2014 - Carnival Miracle to Mexico

Carnival Cruise Lines has changed alot

I have traveled on Carnival 6 times since the early 80s.  I have seen it change in quality and accomodations since then. On this last cruise we decided it will be our last cruise with Carnival.  The rooms on this ship " The Miracle"  looked worn out.  The clenliness of the room was just ok. The halls and rooms smell a little stale. The food was  " OK" but nothing amazing.  I can say it was a great deal for the price we got it at so I cannot complain as far as the " value"  but if I was paying the full price I would have been very disappointed.  The first room we got was located directly under the bandstand of the lounge we found out was directly above us.  Make sure you do not take a room anywhere near any of the lounges or theatres or do not expect to get any sleep.  Thanks to the Guest Services Supervisor we were able to get our room changed and got to enjoy the rest of our ship.  Many of the employees we got to know told us the same thing in that Carnival has changed how they operate and are having the employees do multi duties so the jobs do not get done as well as if they had one person do each individual job. That is evident in the clenliness of the ship. If you get a good deal its a good value for the price .  But if you are looking for a real treat you may want to consider paying more and going with another cruise line.  Also The intinerary from the West Coast is very limited now and seems they only go to Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta. For a 7 day you only get two ports.

sammyvelvet's Tips

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico - We have been going to Cabo San Lucas for over 40 years. It is a different place now no longer a sleepy fishing town. Its a Tourist destination which is fine. You will do yourself a favor if you just bypass the "Gauntlet" of Hawkers when you exit the tenders where you disembark. Pass on all the offers and exit the Marina and go into town. The Shopping prices are way better and you get to see downtown Cabo. Also if you are into fishing at all DO NOT BOOK IT on the ship the prices are ridiculous. Since the ships itinerary now does two days in Cabo you actually have time to fish ... do it on the morning you leave the ship early ( usually 7am )... you can book the fishing boats right on the boardwalk and they have all the tackle you need and you can go out for 3-4 hours and be back in time to take your catch to Capt .Tonys right in the marina and eat it for lunch before you have to leave again. If anyone is interested contact me and I will give you some tried and tested good Panga Captains. And for those into shopping make sure to haggle ... My wife got a sterling silver necklace that started at $165 but ended up costing $45 .... so dont worry you wont insult the locals if you haggle its expected ...
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - If you go to PV then go to OLD VALLARTA. Grab a Taxi as you exit the ship. Have them take you to the beginning of the " Malecon " ( Boardwalk ). Then just walk the Malecon and all the shops and food places there and within a couple of blocks from there. You will also run into where the Church is and just walk in ( but just remember its a real church so please respect that ). If you walk the entire Malecon go to a restaurant at the end called " Si Senor" ... you can sit by the beach ( 20 feet away ) right next to the Mueye De Los Muertos ( Pier at Los Muertos ) . While you sit there and watch the sea and all the people enjoying the beach and the vendors who will bring the shopping to you as you eat Ceviche and drink Cold beverages you will think that you never want to leave .. and for those of you who like massages .. you will see the ladies walking the beach and will give you a great massage while you sit and sip your cold Margarita ... and the prices here are amazing ... if you do get a massage ask for "Rosie" she is the best and we have been getting massages from her for the past 5 years.
Carnival Miracle Carnival Miracle - Take a couple of extra plastic drinking containers. You can use them to fill with half/half for your coffee ( they never deliver enough) . Use one for Tea or juices or milk to keep in your fridge in your room so you can have then when you want without having to leave your room or call room service ( which is slow ). Also if you do take a Thermal cup you can make your Mocha Coffee up on the lido deck. Just use a cup of the Hot Chocolate and add in Coffee to your liking. Bring Snacks and candies to keep in your room.
Carnival Miracle Carnival Miracle - Bring a small DVD player and RCA cables to connect to the TV. The movie selection is limited to two a day and the same movies get played all day long. Also you can connect kids video games to it. Also bring an extension cord with multiple plugs in it because the electrical receptacles are sparse.
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico - You only get a short time In Cabo so make it count. If you want to get the best deals you have to leave the area directly in front of the marina. Go into town and you can find much cheaper deals and a better selection. And haggle for the prices .. its a part of the game.
Carnival Miracle Carnival Miracle - Make sure to either put out the order form for Morning food service or call the night before to set up a time for your coffee and the select items to start your day. Also do not bother to take on anything in " Bottles " as Carnival has a new policy of " NO BOTTLES OF ANY KIND" but wine or champagne
Carnival Miracle Carnival Miracle - If you want a good wake up call schedule coffee delivery in the morning and you will have you wake up and coffee at the same time.
