We booked a suite as we had hoped to make this a great first time experience for my mother and the boat was suppose to have come out of dry dock recently but must say the ship is DATED and this isn't our first cruise and I wasn't excited about this cruise as it's not cheap as it use to be and the frills are extra including upgraded meals, soft drinks, beverages, water etc.... our 8 year old daughter ate in the fine dining room and the last night we were there - they gave us a children's menu (the entire cruise we never knew they had this and she was so excited about the meal on the children's menu and ate it all) that I just was very disappointed that no one had shared this with us all the other nights we dined in there.  The wait is terrible to get on the ship (it's been 7 years since our last cruise on carnival and the wait hasn't changed a total cluster and being priority didn't eliminate any wait).

The last morning, was suppose to be easy for those that had suites no wait etc so had a paper to meet with luggage at 8 am in universe lounge or 8:30 if you left luggage outside night prior..... well we were there before 8:30 am and no one was there the time was earlier not what was listed on sheet that was left in our room..... others complained as well, as we were stuck in the line with the rest of the 2000 people trying to get off.

lastly, having a suite you have the option of time you would like to dine and we could pick anytime so we could eat in the early or late one night we went to the early seating and there was a wait so took a beeper and lady said about 30 minutes (keep in mind we have an 8 year old with us) so an hour and 45 min later we went and complained as the beeper didn't go off and I would have to say they must have failed to start the beeper as we went into the dining room there are always tables open they don't turn tables quickly and you will always see empty clean or dirty tables available.

As far as the twister water slide not enough water - kids and adults had to walk the other half down the slide since there isn't enough water to bring them to the end.

I would have to say, I need to research prior to booking a carnival cruise again... the ship is too dated and price isn't cheap at the end!
