Have you joined cruise critic? There are about 50 of us from this cruise using it and organizing trips. You will most likely have a better response there. Good Luck, hope to meet on the ship. Laura

Good morning from Vancouver.
My husband and I, Ellen and Stan Greenspoon, are booked on HAL leaving from Athens on Oct 20/16.

Is anyone interested in sharing a small group tour from Ashdod to Jerusalem....details below:. We will be picked up at ship. We have been in contact with the company and a minimum number of people are needed.

Below is the description of the day:.

"On October 23rd we can do the shore excursion fromAshdod to Jerusalem and Yad Vashem  for you.  This is a wonderful day-trip and although there is a little bit of driving, you will enjoy your time throughout the day because we will transport you in a very comfortable and air-conditioned van.We will pick you up from the Ashdod port in the morning just outside the ship for a Jewish tour of Jerusalem. Drive to see the magnificent overview of Jerusalem and the Judea desert from Mount Scopus, near the Hebrew University campus. Drive to the Old city, Visit the tomb of king David on mount Zion; Walk along the Cardo, the ancient Roman road; view the remains of the wall ofJerusalem from the first temple period. Visit the Jewish quarter and the four Sephardic synagogues from the 16th century, restored after the 1967 war. Visit Davidson center and the wailing wall.  In the afternoon continue to Mea Shearim and learn about the unique lifestyle of the ultra orthodox communities.
